EVLEVO, if you want to do some drifting then get an RS, or put and RS diff in place of the AYC.
The AYC will want to correct you, while the RS diff won't and will wait you you to correct it.
The ACD won't stop you drifting if you want to.

There are articles in SPEED, Road & Track, AUTOWEEK, and others that report that evo viii mr is going to be in US by this year. Believe it. The manager of my local mitsu dealer told me to hold off for viii mr, but maybe you are right. We will see what happens.

It seems like most of the 03 evo owners are bitter about the US EVO MR. IT is like experiencing the WRX and Sti phenomenon.

The MR is coming the MR is coming........what a joke!!!!
Yeh...

And this is 76 pages of nonstop laughter..

I see your view, I really do. Reading countless pages of "MR" conversation... can be frustrating amidst the reports of a Mitsu failure..

But to say that won't bring it or ain't bringing it because they are a company in trouble is the real humour!!

Nissan passed on bringing the "Z" in bad times, right??!

Audi said "screw" the TT when they were struggling to stay afloat??!!

These are just two cases and granted extreme cases.(after all, the EVO assembly line is currently operable and capable of producing the "MR" with little tweaks...Cars like the "Z" and "TT" took massive line improvements and changes to be able to build...)

Point I am making is as important to Mitsu as the EVO is, it IS NOT the car company as a whole!!!!!!

Just thier spirit..

Here's the description from the add
This vehicle will arrive at our dealership by mid-May. This is the first EVO to be offered with the factory installed leather Recaro front buckets, and the 315-Watt Mitsubishi/Infinity 7 speaker system including subwoofer!! According to the Mitsubishi ordering guide this vehicle is still being considered an EVO VIII. It is not an RS or a MR edition!!

This dealer seems to know the difference between the 04, RS, and MR. I gather there's a couple of clues here. He seems to know the arrival date for the 04's, and perhaps may know about the MR ? Anyway, he did put his email in the add, so I think it would be worth probing him for info esnyder@medinamitsubishi.com

That's tempting just to force them to have it go back to the factory and get a factory cruise control built for it.. Or did they listen? Did they pay attention? Mitsu may be well on the way to a turn around!

That VIN # is a 2004 boys...

Now someone needs to have the salesperson PHYSICALLY verify the tilt option...

They are a dying company that is not only in trouble financially but in popularity, no one is buying there cars. In what articale did you all read from Mitsu itself saying that they are going to bring over the MR all that you know is some guy that writes car reviews said he talked to some people that said they were going to bring it over. It is not going to happen, dont get your hopes out if you are a potential EVO buyer do not wait for the MR go ahead and get a 2003 because there probably not even be 2004 EVO's thats is I am done
Cmon guy, get a clue.

If that were true than Mitsu wouldn't be doing the 10yr/100,000 mile warranty. If that were true why do they have such a humongous marketing budget? The appeal to the younger crowd, 18-34 demographic. I can't go an hour without seeing one of their ad's somewhere.
You need to read the prior 76 pages before you start mouthing off how the MR isn't coming. Get a job.

Haha, I should put that in my sig.

"Mitsubishi is a dying company."

Click on the Supra pic. Can't seem to get the link to work.

And while you guys are at it check out the Vette clip.
Kinda makes you think twice about aggravating the Vette owners.
Nuff respect to the Vette's

On another note...

If you're worried about insurance, these cars aren't for you. I think I stated that earlier.
Major improvements were made in the AYC system with the 6.5 TMEs and again in the VIIs. Many Evo VI GSR owners did not care for their AYC. In later versions the action is much smoother. There is a knock from the back diff when it reaches it's velocity limit. But it is just a noise, it does not unsettle the car.

The SAYC on VIII has twice the velocity differential limits as the VIIs AYC. So you likely will not max out the rear diff at all.

But either way I've held nice long drifts in tarmac and gravel modes on paved surfaces.

The RS is probably a better drift car but it is easy and fun to do it with an AYC equipped car.

So...
All I have to be doing is going faster then I normally would for a drift?

I don't want to have to go Mach 1 to do it.

The Jun Evo Lemon, WORLD Reknown. Using the faint style drift. Very TOIGHT.
