Ours at this point in time will be on a first come, first serve basis. Pricing Is something I'm interested in myself as I want one as well. When my dealerships pricing becomes available i'll post it, but I'm thinking it'll be after the vehicles are delivered to us.
All of this sounds exactly how it was 1.5 to 2 years ago before the Evo arrived in the U.S. I'm hoping the hoopla over the MR arrival dies down by next May/June and reality sets in, so I can buy one under MSRP.

My thoughts on this for car dealers. The market for these cars is small and somewhat educated. The time for large profits over msrp should be shorter than the original 8s so I will hold out or go out of state to get MSRP or lower. If the warranty was more worthwhile I might be more willing to support a local dealer with my business. Since I have a very good independent japanese auto repair here in south OC I can live without dealer service. My warranty will likely be voided soon anyways.
With all these scans of mitsu warranty denials popping up, MSRP is certainly not worth it. You buy a new car for the warranty. No warranty or typical warranty hassles and denials is going to push prices down below MSRP. I can hold out for what I want, some can't. Either way I can't wait to see and MR around here locally.
I still don't understand the logic with these huge markups...doesnt anyone at these stores realize that by doing this they take their own customers out of the market. Example, if someone bought an EVOVIII with 5k over msrp and wanted to trade in on an MR they would be so far out of whack in their car they would need thousands of dollars down to pay a much larger payment. I believe that the MR and the original Evo were worth MSRP at launch and many people are still paying MSRP, but to put your own customers over a barrel and make it where they cannot buy another car for years is just insane. As for the earlier question about buying in AZ and taking the car to Cali, yes you can just requires some additional paperwork. You would pay city tax in AZ (roughly 1%) and the rest would be paid direct to Cali. If you need more specific information just let me know.

And when might that be? DO you have a timeframe yet? I might be interested as well.
I think I might wait a little as well. Let all the huge mark-up fever blow over and then do some serious negotiating at the dealerships
One might think that they might have learned from their mistakes with the 8's but something tells me a few knuckle head stealerships will try to put one or some over on us.
In any case lets rejoice that the bar for 4 wheel/ 4 banger supremacy has just been raised. Lets see what the other side can do to even things out.
Maybe if we cry long and hard enough Mitsu might send us SAYC. I know I know that issue has already been dealt with but remember at one point the Evo never was and now it is. We should have a petition for SAYC and rub it MMC faces that the competition already has a horsepower and torque advantage over us so at least let us seal the deal with the handling.
