This is why the RS does NOTHING for me..

Evo VIII MR Improvements

As with every Evolution model the latest one has some considerable improvements over the last, here's an overview of what's packing more punch and how the the Evo VIII MR has improved further still.

The Lancer Evolution shown at the 2003 Tokyo Motor Show is dubbed Lancer Evolution MR, taking the MR (Mitsubishi Racing) designation traditionally reserved for Mitsubishi Motors high performance models and first used on the Galant GTO.

Lancer Evolution VIII MR boasts improved road holding by exploiting to maximum advantage the advanced features of Mitsubishi's own all-wheel control system and using exclusively configured slick-response Bilstein shocks to realise handling characteristics with the higher degree of control necessary for the vehicle to remain predictable and stable. Forged alloy road wheels reduce unsprung weight, while the centre of gravity has been lowered by using aluminium for the roof panel and through weight reductions to the upper half of the body to realise more natural roll characteristics through corners.

A special process bonds the aluminium roof panel to the steel framing and with the strategic location of reinforcements results in a high rigidity body.

Detail improvements to the electronic all-wheel drive system, to the ACD and Super AYC handling systems and to the Sports ABS systems, together with the Evolution's legendary and now lighter suspension achieve an unprecedented degree of quality in handling characteristics. This has been verified in a gruelling testing program over the original Nordschleife circuit at Nurburgring, notorious for it's bumpy and undulating surface and twisting corners.

Improvements to the turbocharger and cams have raised maximum torque. The engine also benefits form improved redline performance and has been tuned for competition use with emphasis on power output in the mid-to-high speed bands.

Exterior and interior trim elements enhancing Lancer Evolution VII MR's sporty, premium value image include black headlamp reflectors and a carbon finish dashboard.

Look at the engineering and enhancements that went into this one!!

You can unbolt **** at home and BUILD your RS , Put the stuff on E-BAY and get some cash back but..

Try to do an ALUMINUM ROOF!!

VERY NICE!!

I like what they have to say about the engine.

The engine also benefits form improved redline performance and has been tuned for competition use with emphasis on power output in the mid-to-high speed bands.

Here at Xtreme Automobiles our experience isn't limited to car sales within the UK. We have a long standing reputation for being able to handle exports of cars to anywhere in the world.

They will gladly export the evo VII, VII Extreme and Extreme S... (19,200 to 30,000 euros)... no Extreme evo VIII for now

I wish both that color and the pica purple were available here in the US for the Evo. Two very distinct colors that would say "Evo" like World Rally Blue on the WRX.

EVO "MR" MODEL INTRO from INSIDE SOURCE!!

Via e-mail from Mitsu big-wig..

Please don't quote me by name if you would, because I don't want to answer a lot of follow-up questions. Something like "Sources within Mitsubishi say..." would be fine.
and the response..

As far as I know, it isn't, at least in the form you may have seen at the Tokyo Motor Show. But elements of it may appear on the U.S.-spec car in the future. Stay tuned.

I little more vague then I had hoped for but the STAY TUNED means that it is in fact coming!!!

Right?

Hello??

Anyone there??

It will eventually come
Probably another 2-3 years?

I know this won't do diddly but long ago I had suggested we do a petition for the new Type-R's to come over
I believe the webmaster at clubrsx took up the offer to start one, we got a good deal of signatures then he sent it to Honda
Well the Type-R still hasn't come over but at least Honda knew about the demand for them

Well if anyone wants to set up a petition, I am too lazy to think and write up the intro that we want an MR model or FQ model blah blah blah but if anyone wants to do it go here

http://www.petitiononline.com/

Once set up, spread the word about the petition and in like 3-4 months send the link off to
The most it will probably do is let know that there is a huge demand for those models
