This is probably just an imported evo. The lights are not even blacked out.

Awsome find, you indeed uncovered a engineering test mule. To eveyrone ragging on the guy about incorrect tails, headlights, cutout in the shifter trim, do yourselves a favor and look in any car magazine at the photos of testing mule cars. Most of the time they are very rough examples of future cars. This is done because final tooling for pieces is not complete, and certain design aspects still might change on the vehicle in question. This Evo obviously did not need special disguises because it was real easy to make it look like a regular Evo. Very nice work.

Yes I mistakenly said the 04's havent arrived yet, but appearantly they have just started showing up. When I bought my 2003 a few weeks ago, there were none at the dealerships, and the 2004 EVOwas not even listed at www.carsdirect.com. It looks like that has changed in the last three weeks. They have the 2004 and the RS listed now, it looks like it is possible to get one. I wonder how the supply of 04's will be compared to 03's I have a feeling they will bring less over for 2004.

yeah i know gm does this for liabilty reasons it is cheaper to crush them.

When you think about it, aren't all Evos imported?

It would be nice if newbies would stop trying to look smart by quickly posting one of the two facts they know without reading the thread first.

Nice recovery "mistakenly said 04's" .
Congrats on the Evo - too bad you didn't hold out a little longer

Au Contraire, my friend...

I constantly find myself wanting to shift into 6th gear. In addition, the entire gearing is different than a 5spd. The E46 M3 I had prior had a 6spd and it was well mated to the HP/TQ to provide a nice power band in every gear. I was accelerating on steep hills in 4th going about 35mph!
