2011 Evo now confirmed
Inside line seems to think we'll see a new evo in 2013 and that the new Lancer will show up in 2012.

But unless they are planning on skipping another year, I don't see why Mitsu would wait, unless they plan to build the current Evo along side the new Lancer. Maybe there won't be a significant change in the platform.

i think the same... i'm thinking 350hp if not more, i'm thinking past 400lb tq or in the high 300s
i'm thinking refined interior, i'm thinking probably about the same weight (3.5k, 3.7k lbs)
i'm thinking slalom speeds past 71mph (probably 72+) im thinking 1/4 mile high 12's stock
i'm thinking all of that... let's just hope it all realizes

that's about it for now... but Mitsu needs new management asap, or a merge... otherwise their plans might come true yeah... but only in 10 years... they could learn a thing or two from Hyundai
(by the way... Hyundai is using Mitsu's help left and right... and no-one notices or give mitsu any credit... for example their newest Sonata is coming soon with a Turbo and 270hp, and the Turbo is a Mitsubishi turbo >_> out of 30+ turbos they tried out.... they decided to stay with the best = Mitsu!

you know there's no way in hell the Evo's going to lose weight unless they go cheaper than they went this time interior-wise (i dont think that's possible lol... nothing cheaper than the current lancer's interior) and they'd have to try and make the evo's body aluminum-everything... which would only increase the car's price by a lot...
only thing i can think of... is that Mitsu already got a winning formula regarding weight... the plastic fenders found in the upcoming Outlander Sport... then again, what'd be the weight difference? 10 pounds? lol

The Outlander Sport is interesting because of its extremely low CD for a crossover which is .32 compared to .35 for the STI and Camaro. And it is also light at 3009 pounds with a manual and that's 88 pounds lighter then a GTI. If they apply some of that ideology to the next Evo (and Lancer) I'm thinking they could make lighter vehicles that have the same level of interior equipment.
Yes, I want a lighter, more focused sporting machine. I do want a better interior. I'm only referring to the quality of the materials. I think the current Lancer/Evo interior is just short of shameful. Hard plastics everywhere, and creaks and rattles driven by such poor material selection. There's no reason for this.
I'd also like Mitsu to abandon drive by wire, give us back the old steering and mechanical gauges, but I know that won't happen.
