2011 Evo now confirmed
Most times a midcycle refresh is budgeted for and planned years in advance in a 5 year product cycle. But I think the only facelift they got or will get was the one they already got for 2010. It will look like this for a couple of years and its done. For instance my Eclipse is a 2Gb and looked that way from 97-99, while 2Gas were 95-96.
I can't say I am really surprised that they are letting it go, though I am disapointed. Its kind of a dead segment after all. And the car is going to squeezed from the both ends by the Scion tC and the Mustang and Camaro V6 and Gen coupe and I don't think Mitsu can bring enough to the table to really compete unless they give it full Evo capability and that means stealing sales from Evos.
I wonder if this means Normal will be closed because I was under the impression the Endeavor was being canceled too and they'd already said this was the last Galant to be built in the US.

I am a car salesman. I must say that a lot of dealers out there tell customers that they are taking orders on the next years models but they do not tell customers a few things...
1. They sometimes tell clients "yea.. we are taking orders" but yet they are not. What they are doing is getting you out of the market (no more shopping around) and taking your money and giving you a bull**** time frame for delivery. Then when that time comes they give every excuse under the sun.
2. They may not have allocation for that particular vehicle. They may have to wait until the manufacturer allows them to order it.
Just be weary about dealerships and their games.
I work for a Ford dealer, and I see people coming to me with that **** all day long about how other dealers screw them!
Make sure that if you do order a car... make sure they give you a copy of the build confirmation, and spec sheet to ensure that you are getting they right car and that they actually placed the order.

Is the Galant going to be built in Japan again? That is a good move as if they are ever going to be relevant again they need to have a better offering in the mid-size sedan segment as that is where all the sales are.
It's funny but in my part of the world I see a fair bit of Eclipses. Kind of sad if it does get the axe as it is the sole survivor of some of the great affordable coupes of the 90's (240/Silvia, Prelude, Integra, Probe/MX6) even if it's a shadow of its former self. That market segment is pretty well dead now.
If they had any money, wouldn't have been nice for them to build a 2010 20th anniversary Eclipse with turbo and AWD, like a limited run of 5000 cars or something? But that would have taken a total re engineering of the platform and drivetrain and probably wouldn't have been worth it even if they had the money. I'm glad they didn't try it any way and it end up being just a bodykit and wheel package and funky color.

Am I just confused or is the Evo X SE supposed to be a 2011???

http://www.mitsubishicars.com/MMNA/jsp/evo/10/trims.do
Also new packages were added for the Evo X even though its still listed as a 2010 model on the website.
I'm so lost

two dealers told me SE will be a 2010, however there is a thread in show and shine with pic's that the poster says has a 2011 sticker.

So, I guess it is the same story as in 2006 where the SE and the MR(SE) was added to the list of the evolution IX. Does it mean that 2012 will be the year that an evolution XI will appear?
Given the economic cliamate around the world, I doubt it. I think there is still some mileage left in the X.

But unless they are planning on skipping another year, I don't see why Mitsu would wait, unless they plan to build the current Evo along side the new Lancer. Maybe there won't be a significant change in the platform.
