Manufacturers have to stop making a particular model year of car at some point. So it is very likely that there will be no more 2010s made. They will switch over to 2011s in a few months. Evos only see limited production anyway. So no, you can't order a 2010 Evo any more. You'll have to choose from what's already built and most likely already delivered to dealers.

He mentioned somethin about replacing the turbo with a twin scroll but different to the turbo evos have now. He said it'll be aiming for higher market to compete with nissan's 'gtr'. I just didn't pay full attention to what he's sayin because I was checkin out their MR touring lol

Maybe mitsubishi employees(vendors here) have some infos they're not sharing?

so a bigger twin scroll lol. I don't see mistu making a car to compete with the gtr in house. Who would pay for a 60k mitsu. Paying that for a nissan is already wtf are you doing. If you have the money buy a vette or a used porsche.

Gp tourer made a point that i am about to elaborate on. I wrote an email to the dealer in Plano Texas about wanting to get a ordered ww evo and got this response:
Hello Craig,
thank you for your interest in the Mitsubishi Evolution Lancer . I am Charles Butler, internet sales manager for Don Herring Mitsubishi Plano. Right now what we are odering is 2011 models . However, typically a deposit of $2,500 is all we need to order a vehicle , thgis deposit goes toward the purchase of the vehicle of course. However, we deem it non-refundable to ensure that you are 100% positive this is the vehicle that you want. Did you want this vehicle with the SSS package ? Or just the Aero Package ? Please let me know how you would like to proceed and thank you again.

Charles Butler
Internet Sales Manager
Don Herring Mitsubishi
4225 West Plano Parkway
Plano, TX 75093
469-443-1844 Direct
469-443-1815 Fax

Then asked:
Thank you for your fast reply. Yes i would like the SSS package as well. Also another question, is there any word on available options for the 2011? I really want the features from the MR touring, i just don't want the SST tranny. I would really like the seats and the added sound dampening.

As of yet i have not heard of a 2011 even being released, is there for sure going to be one stateside?

About the deposit, that should be no problem whatsoever. As soon as i get my official orders to Fort Worth i would like to go forward with this. What is the average time it takes for delivery after an order is placed?

And and got a resonse of:
Hello Craig,
I do not have info on the 2011 models as of yet, but it should be out soon. However, the seats can be added if you like. Once we make that first order on 2011, I will know what is different. By the way, what time is it in Japan ? Thank you again and I will be in touch as info comes forward.

So i have a better feeling about getting my eve upon return to the states

Sounds like this guy is really on the ball . Personally I'd hold off on the deposit but that's just me.

I never understood why car salesmen don't proofread their own emails...

I am a car salesman. I must say that a lot of dealers out there tell customers that they are taking orders on the next years models but they do not tell customers a few things...

1. They sometimes tell clients "yea.. we are taking orders" but yet they are not. What they are doing is getting you out of the market (no more shopping around) and taking your money and giving you a bull**** time frame for delivery. Then when that time comes they give every excuse under the sun.

2. They may not have allocation for that particular vehicle. They may have to wait until the manufacturer allows them to order it.

Just be weary about dealerships and their games.

I work for a Ford dealer, and I see people coming to me with that **** all day long about how other dealers screw them!

Make sure that if you do order a car... make sure they give you a copy of the build confirmation, and spec sheet to ensure that you are getting they right car and that they actually placed the order.

Thanks, BOOST, it's nice to hear from an honest salesperson! My takeaway from that: Don't order, and especially don't put money down, unless you know what you're ordering and have proof from the dealer.

As far as non-refundable down payments, could you predate the check? IE, if it's 4/30 today and they say the order won't be placed until 5/30, could I date the check 5/30 so that they couldn't cash it, and then if it turns out they're full of s*** and trying to screw me then just stop payment on the check?

Not in the market for a car (just bought mine) but hypothetical circumstance, just curious.

Well,

Ordering a vehicle is fine. Just make sure that you have confirmation that it is ordered, and spec'd exactly how you want it. Most dealers require a deposit, usually ranging from $1,000 to up to 20% of the purchase price. Im all about ordering vehicles... getting things you want, how you want it.

You cant pre-date the check... They want to make sure the check is good, and funds are transferred to them to ensure that the order is legit. It really just is the nature of the business. 90% of dealerships are sleezy and scumbags. I started in the business at a sleezy dealership. I learned the basics and left because I was not comfortable with their methods. I am glad to say that I work for a great bunch of people now, and any dealer that takes advantage of people should be out of business.

This guy sounds like a true Mitsu salesman. He has absolutely NO idea what the hell is going on. Every time I visit a Mitsu dealer, I know more about the Evo than they do! He's contradicting himself by assuring you that they are ordering the '11 Evo, yet he has NOTHING on them. Meaning no one has told him that they are even coming out with an '11 model for them to even order.... Then, he's even taking orders on whether or not you want to pay extra for an SSS package and Aero Kit... When he doesn't even know if those options even exist. This makes me f'n furious. Mitsu needs to step their game up, bigtime.

wow what an idiot. I cant believe you told him to buy a vette! A gtr is an amazing car. Ask any evo owner who has switched over and theyll tell you . I get the luxury of driving them just about everyday so i would know
