You must be a expert at knowing this....which is kinda scarey.

I work at a Mitsu dealer, and am the resident evo guys since I actually drive one and know what I'm talking about. My boss spoke to a mitsu rep who said there will be a limited run
(300), I'm not sure if it will be a 2010 or 2011, or any other detals as of yet; but there is surely something cool comingdown the pipeline.

The guy that wrote the email to me a week or so back from the tx dealership just emailed me this same info

Hello Craig,
just wanted to drop you a line and give you an update. I do not have any info on the release of 2011 models. However, they have added another trim level, an SE . But this also has the TC SST transmission. This trim level is also a 2010 model. What this indicates to me is that we have a few more order cycles of 2010 models. Therefore you can actually order a 2010 model. Something you might want to check into while you are in Japan is the possibility of getting a US spec vehicle locally. You are at the point of origin. When I was stationed in Italy, we had the ability to purchase US spec, European vehicles in theater. They also, provided shipping back to the US once we PCS'd , as long as it was within 2 years of vehicle*purchase. This allowed us to actually ship 2 vehicles home , 1 through the manufacturer and the other through the military. That is something you may want to check into. If so , let me know and I can work on a point of contact for . You may also, want to check with military sales on base, even though they usually cater to Volvo they may be able to steer you in the right direction. Thank you and I will be in touch.

Again he has poor grammar but he is trying to be helpful.

So the SE is less insaulated than the regular x?

So, what is the functional difference between the MR and the upcoming SE? The lack of a large spoiler? I could see Mitsu offering a 5-speed SE with the Bilstein suspension, 2-piece rotors, etc, but the auto? I don't see the point.

Basically I see it as a cheap MR Touring. It looks like it will be priced similarly to the GSR w/ SSS. I ageree, I would be more interested with a 5 speed and no heated seats...although having driven the SST I actually like it. now if it was an RS I think they would have gone with the 5 speed and no heated seats, maybe in 2011...also as far as no 2011 that is still unknown per my Mits rep so I cannot say yes or no.

YES. I LOVE THE 4G63... GREAT MOTOR WITH TONS OF POTENTIAL

as far as the individuals working for dealerships... they hear less information (in most cases) from the manufacturer... than consumers...

(let me explain)

most people hear all the info on the internet... like forums, blogs etc. ford releases information to dealerships (im sure its all manufacturers) when they they want to. usually the bloggers and forums have the information wayyy before the dealerships get wind of it.

im no veteran in the car business... but i have been doing this for about 5 years, and it seems to me that it the whole industry is like this. it sucks.. but it is just the way things work out.

as far as salesmen and their lack of knowledge... they are just shooting themselves in the foot because knowledge is king in this business. Id be on pissed off individual if a consumer comes to me and schools me on my product. i spend most of my free time at the dealerships reading blogs, forums etc to get as much info as i can. maybe thats just me though!

what you just described is mr touring, unless by options, you mean that customer can choose all of these individually

i might actually consider the new volvo s60, 6cyl turbo with awd, i will have pretty much all of the features of an MR and then some (including being a volvo, safer, more technology, leather, more fuel efficient, and the list goes one) and most likely cheaper unless you add every option in the book

Well, seeing as noone really has any good information I contacted mitsu canada. They called me back and confirmed that they do have VIN allocation for 2011 and that there will be 2011 models, They just dont know when as their current supply of 10's has to run out.

Yes, but Canada also got the '09s that we didn't get, which were the same as the '08s. So, the Canadian '11s will be the '10s again. This is just my assumption, of course.

And coming out with a '10 SE model while everyone else is showcasing their '11 models just goes to show that Mitsu has nothing new to offer for '11.
