I think all the "reports" of diesel or hybrid Evos is just hype to keep the competition off balance and aren't very likely to happen at all.

You can take this one to the bank, guys.

Why? so that your x could be a "collectable?"

Will this be worth a trade-in of my '08??
I wouldn't get an MR, but why in the hell are they only going to be offered with a lip spoiler? I don't see the marketing strategy for Mitsu as being... smart. So, correct me if I'm wrong, but am I to believe that everyone who drives an MR doesn't want the full performance and/or downforce of an Evo?? Extra weight.. and a LIP SPOILER?? I don't get it. If you don't want the downforce-enhancing wing, just take it off. Why pay more for less? Know what I'm saying? Or am I just overreacting?

Sorry for all the ?????????????'s lol

You can blame every review of every Evo that claims the big wing is "boy-racer" "juvenile" and is the only thing keeping the car from being a runaway success and luring over legions of buyers who get more grown up BMWs, Audis and Infinitis instead. I am of course exaggerating and being sarcastic, but Mitsu does actually listen and this has been a big complaint for years. People like us are more open to the idea of modding a car and swapping trunks or putting on the wing, whereas the non-tuner crowd is supposedly just turned off by the car all together. They need to see it without the wing first. So now Mitsu is giving them their chance.

The GSR will still have the wing. Mitsu needs to increase sales in the U.S. and E.U., the lip spoiler will help them do that. have to agree with GPTourer

I've heard from several people who decided to pull the trigger on a new MR because of the lack of the big rear wing. So GPTourer, I think your post was dead-on. Many people don't want to have to deal with trunk swaps or body shops with their brand new car.

I wanted a 04 STi back in the day but didn't want to deal with getting a new hood and FMIC to get rid of the ridiculous hood scoop.

Good point. I just can't get over the fact that someone would pay top dollar for a model that "lacks" a performance enhancing feature... that's all. Whether that feature is actually usable on the street is negligible though.

Either way, I'm looking forward to ANY "upgrades" the 2011 will bring. I know its still early but wondering if anybody would trade in their '08 for one.

back in the 2000-2002 I were just dreaming they'll bring the evo over. Any Evo. I dont care. Just Evo. Raw and awsome...

Now people are having many choices to choose and complain about.

is it just me or did I miss something from the 2010 GSR... on Mitsu's site under "pick your trim" there is a "standard wing" and "large wing" for the GSR ... the base MR has the Big wing... sorry but I didn't notice this smaller wing before, I kinda like it. I wonder if they will keep this standard smaller wing for the 2011... probably wiill..
