Just wanna know how I can order mine. I asked the SOCAL dealerships about the 2011 GSR and when they will have them in stock and they said they haven't heard of a 2011 yet but only heard of the GSR SE. Couple questions. When will these be available at the dealerships and any big differences between this and the 2010 GSR besides sunroof, front heated seats? Please pm me I am interested

I was surprised as well. The description says it also includes additional cabin sound dampening. What I don't know is if the doors are different like the MR touring. Hopefully they put the simulated leather covering on the doors as well. I would assume they would for continuity.

There's a number of reasons I went with this car, but a biggy is for potential power. My experience has been I mod, sell mods, mod, change mind, switch things around.... I think this time I'm buying all the mods at once, going to throw in a few grand and call it a day. I believe if I try to get to my end result in one shot I will save 20-30% $$$. Thanks for the link.

I live in the Midwest. From my research prior to placing my order you have a large selection of dealerships in the area. A couple things to consider related to price. The '10 GSR has a $1000 rebate. The '11 is $500 more at MSRP. I forget the name of a popular dealership out there.... South Coast Mitsubishi maybe? Anyway, they're a vendor on this forum, and if you go to www.cars.com, and search for '10 Evo X in the "new car" section, then change the search parameter to "lowest price first" you will see several options for you. Bottom line, Do Not Return to the Dealership you went to. If you want an '11 before the end of the year you should order now to get it during the last week of Nov through December. Otherwise you are looking at getting in on the next boat which will be Jan.

Lastly, do not pay more then invoice listed on edmunds.com, and it is possible to get it less then the listed invoice although it's very time consuming and difficult if you're not used to the sales process.

If you have any specific questions let me know. I've been researching my purchase for many hours and if I can save you some time I'm more then happy to help.

disclaimer: I don't work at a dealership, everything above may be completely incorrect, just speaking from my personal experience only.

It was south coast mitsubishi that I contacted. They did not know when the 2011 was being releases or even if there would be one

Someone else here has worked with them and may chime in.....

The dealership knows what's available. The salesman you talked to maybe not, or may so...

If I were you try shooting this guy a PM

Another option is to contact their internet sales manager, or do both. Go to their website and shoot them a message, tell them you want one. You will get to your end result faster if you can tell them what you want to pay out the door for the car without packages, add-on's. Once you get to a price that's comfortable for you then move to negotiating the package prices imo.

I was going to pass due to the additional weight, but it's not going to be anything noticeable. I think there's only an extra 30 or so pounds. I live in KC, it has potential to be very cold during winter, my azz will be warm extra weight or not

it's not that. i'm just old school. i hate to see a race-bred vehicle slowly turn into a Honda Accord. it's just a bit saddening.

well, another way to look at it is the brand surviving by adapting... leather is standard fair on most sports cars.. well all sports cars with the exception of the gsr until now.

leather is in sti, mustang, vette, M3, Porsche, all the supercars...viper, lambo, ...... actually it would be easier to list sports cars that do not have leather...

either way, I know where your coming from.

You can still get a base GSR, the things CBR1000 is talking about are options.
The Lancer is a race-bred vehicle?

Understood. I just see it as: exotics and GT cars come with leather, yes. As do luxury vehicles. I just don't picture rally cars being in the same class. Like I said: it's just me. I make do without cruise control, moon roof, and other luxury items. I bought my Evo for other reasons.
