ya, I hear where you're coming from. I was not going to do it, but after reading threads where people are complaining about the interior fabric, and seeing it was only 1600 to upgrade the console and seats and keep the azz heater,, I figured why not.. I was also worried about wt, but it's only like 30lbs heavier.

Anyway, Dealer email today.. car will arrive in November.

So, anybody wondering when these cars will be here now knows the will be on dealer lots next month.

.........i guess i don't get your sense of humor. :-)
Seeing lancer and race-bred in the same sentence was quite humorous. The EVO is a damn fine all weather performance street car, but race-bred? no, its more a testament to the fine engineers at Mitsubishi who took a low cost sedan and turned it in to the best in its class.

And how, may I ask, did they accomplish this? Focus groups? Are you familiar with the history of the Evolution?

Yes , i know the history, they did it by putting people in charge who knew how to get the job done. They took a family sedan and through a lot of hard work achieved something much greater than its humble beginings. Do you really think the lancer was bred for racing?

The cars primary mission is a family sedan, racing was secondary, not race-bred

I guess when i think of race-bred vs purpose-built the line is very thin, but you make some good points. If we all agreed 100% of the time this fourm would be pretty boring

It's called a Lancer Evolution and they share a LOT of parts. They are built on the same platform, yeah there's some extra reinforcing and welding but basically the same. As i said in a post up above the Mitsubishi engineers did a great job.

Really? Basically the same. I dare you to tell that to the engineers. Lol. If I didn't know better I'd guess you own a lancer. :-)
It's okay. Integra owners used to swear to me their car was the same as my Type-R without the engine/trans/5-lug. Lol. But, it was closer than a lancer is to an Evo.

Just pulled this off of Mitsu's web site.

both the Lancer and the Lancer Evolution possess distinctive wedge-shaped silhouettes and that unmistakable face with its aggressively stretched headlamps and prominent upper and lower grille sections. But this dynamic duo share so much more beneath the skin.
The exceptionally well-engineered and structurally-rigid platform that underpins both the Lancer and the Lancer Evolution can also be found in the equally stylish and award-winning Outlander crossover utility vehicle

many automobiles can share the same platform and still be very different vehicles..the S4 is built on the vw passat platform for example. Besides some sheet metal and an interior, the Evo really shares nothing with the lancer. From reading your last few posts it sounds like you don't know much about the underpinnings of the evo or its history.

I didn't disagree the Evo is based off of the Lancer. I only disagree with everything else you've posted. The post after yours sums it up.
