Confirmed by Mitsubishi high offical: Lancer Evolution is no more
I hope Mitsu will make some really special edition on last year of Evo X production (2013 ?). Like they did with Evo 6 (TME). And it will not surprise me, if that special edition will be sold only in Japan with RHD.

I hope you started saving... lol
One door closes, and another one will open.
I'll get my future AWD boosted fun elsewhere. STIs have made big progress (4 door sedan
) and im really feeling the Quattro Audi A4s for my next ride. Evo gone? I won't cry... i'll never buy a Mitsu again though.

Btw, did that recent jalopnik Mitsu comment actually mean to imply that the Evo X design is planned for a 6 year run (MY 2008 - 2013)? Geez, a refresh seems to be in order at some point.
Seems like they're milking whatever they can from this design. Hope the Evo doesn't actually go away.

I work for Mercedes and the ML continues on thios year before a full redesign and you cant find a ML hybrid to save your life(couple months now)...cant even be ordered... and the new ML doesnt debut until August really

didn't you work before with mitsubishi next door, too? as for the ML, yeah, I've been trying to get the hybrid but it is nowhere to be found locally and "lease only."
Thats the point on the ML... sometimes a brand will keep a car in their lneup even if its nowhere to be found... we can say we still have a ML hybrid to people but you cant really buy/lease one anymore... I bet the same thing with Mistu on any 2012-13 Evo's....
Perhaps not all is lost?????
Although not an official announcement, the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution Facebook page just threw this up (which is ran by mitsu corporate):
"Further to some comments published in the press recently, production of the current Lancer Evolution continues as planned. As for its successor, regulations and market feedback will dictate its engineering package & architecture. Stay tuned."
Perhaps a glimmer of hope for the evo.... At the very least it seems as though there will still be new X's hitting dealers at some point. They also dont seem to be ruling out a future model. Unless this is just some BS to try and calm the ***-hole tearing they are taking from evo fans worldwide.

Haven t bought an evo X as i was eagerly awaiting news of an EV-O. Motor in wheel MIEV EVO vision now given up on? ... Sadly i guess those dreams are shattered.
Those who say the EVO has not influenced buyers to purchase other products in the Mitsu lineup. have you seen the styling in the new outlander - its snout is derived from the all-mighty Evo X Prototype.

I just put a comment up on their Facebook page, apparently they are not 100% on doing this.

And for crying out loud, the way to support them is to BUY. I am talking specifically to those of you in this thread saying "Oh, I should buy. I wanted to buy." Do it before they take all the fun cars away!
