You mean the current evo. The same thing could have been said about the R34 Skyline GTR and a lot of other top end cars.

Especially since , with the right mods, a stock turbo IX will run with the R35 GTR in stock form.

Agree, I cringe at the fact that someone would buy a car like this from Mitsu.

Wait till crap starts breaking which won't be long. I'd do yourselves all a favor and have at least 1/2 the price of the car in savings for when it does.

Good Luck You'll need it

This is a part of normal operations, but there can be a problem when a company decides to significantly change the design of a car. These changes can cause massive delays and glitches, which result in increased costs and slower revenue growth. While a new design may pay off significantly in the long run, it's always a risky proposition. "

I'm pretty sure with Ryugo Nakao being a member of the board, Evo XI will eventually come out if they want it. But we may have to wait many years before it happens.
Good point-- Also, you need to consider the EVO is still a niche market player as is the GTR with limited production and such cars are really lost leaders as they may/maynot have high margins--likely not much due to high production costs-- Anyway-- to drop the EVO line would be simple and not really impact sales, while production cost saving would be significant and as someone else put it and this forum supports it--the ralliart could be an easy replacement, limiting lost customer base and driving up margins. Just a thought.

You say the same thing in every future model hybrid or electric Evo thread. Thanks for re-stating your opinion. Fortunately, I do not believe it will impede technological progress.

This sounds -slightly- believable, to the most part ridiculous. The GT-R by that point will have surpassed that line my the time the dealer-evo's catch up.

I agree it most certainly won't. I feel bad for the consumer

Why such negative comments people? Jesus haters gonna hate I guess. The only issue I'm having is the price tag. If it really will be a GTR rival then I'm sure the price tag is going to go up. The possibility of the Ralliart taking the place of the current Evolution? Maybe?

We should all wait and see what happens. Still have faith in

Sharkbite currently yes. Gsrboi80 why so hateful?

Why did you guys buy an Evo to begin with? Yes the GTR is a crazy car and thus far nothing can be compared to it in its class BUT at the same time what car maker has designed anything to RIVAL it to begin with?

One last thing. has been trying to change the entire image of the company. Whether or not they pull out of the US is one thing but who knows with the new image of I'm sure they'll be working on warranty etc. If you havent noticed they have been rebuilding from the ground up it seems.

This claim is regarding the model after the X, probably still a few years away - not next year.

I +1 this.
Its slightly harsher for our EU market(bar Russia/Ukraine) we're Mitsubishi's designated "mini-car" market. While you will get most likely plug-in diesel hybrid Mitsubishi Pajero in 2015-6. Mitsubishi has designated its strategy in next few years and its about global pressence and regional image it wants to achieve.
In general they want to be known for cheap ecomodels, economic and functional suv's and some kind of treehugging company that has cars that emit low co2 whilst offering everything else others do. So in basic if it weren't for car community outcry, Mitsubishi wouldn't bother thinking twice about cutting the Evo off. But I hate that Mitsubishi doesn't do significant on halo car changes performance wise.
Starion in US was NEVER offered with G63B Turbo, or else it would've been more tuned car than it is now.
3000GT in general should've been more Starion-like than the car it got its underpins off(Galant), They could've updated more engine options. But main fault lies in transverse.
Lancer Evolution actually carries same engine due to legacy that comes with the name with slight change to alu block. But for instance they never wanted to upgrade Lancer Evolution HP # to atleast 300 hp(From 291) like they have in JDM. It would've been so much better for showrooms, especially that Evo X potential sales were hindered by Lehman bro's.

OT: I hate how Mitsubishi lacks flexibility on certain markets, they could've offered 4b10(1.8(140hp)) in current Lancer to cheap out lower trims to be low end buyers(majority) along with Outlander Sport with 4b10, it would've added some diversity(I hate that only Russia has 4b10 ASX/OS since 1.6 in Europe is mind bogglingly slow). And Galant/Eclipse could've got that 6b31 Eclipse alu block V6 and maybe 4b series engine but you know, its too late for that anyway.
