Next Evo to be 500 hp to rival GT-R
If Jaguar can get 850hp out of a 1.6 liter turbo hybrid (C-X75), I'm pretty sure
could get 500.
C-X75:
"Jaguar engineers combined a 1.6-liter turbo supercharged four-cylinder engine (that delivers 502 horsepower) with two electric motors (390 horsepower) for a total output that exceeds 850 horsepower."
could get 500.C-X75:
"Jaguar engineers combined a 1.6-liter turbo supercharged four-cylinder engine (that delivers 502 horsepower) with two electric motors (390 horsepower) for a total output that exceeds 850 horsepower."
Honestly the more I hear about this stuff the more I loose hope. Part of me thinks "man, just WHAT IF they make a car that was as sexy as a Ferrari, and made the GTR scared. if they get all the stars aligned and make a fast, sexy car, and maybe even a nice interior!"
But, it seems like they're just dragging out the X because of us, while there is no real market substantial enough to support manufacturing of a new sporty vehicle.
Kinda makes me sick when I think about the fact that we've all been looking at the same car pictures for almost 7 years now... make something new please
They know this... look at the Galant... the car has not changed in a decade!!!! But there was no point on adding lipstic to that pig and Mitsu knew that... Just like there's no point face lifting the Evo when it's ran its course...
But Mitsu's green agenda seems to be their 1st priority now so at least be glad they're still talking about a future Evo lol... It was supposed to be dead by now.
As the name suggests...time for it to evolve into something new. I really hope Mitsu can pull this off. I would totally get one, but I would probably wait a few years after release so they can work out any initial bugs that may come up. And also let the crazy markups at stealerships fade away.
This is 2014, not 2004. Times are different. Strict legislation on emissions and fuel economy. Ford is going to drop the supercharger for the replacement for the GT500. It will be N/A. Other car companies are looking at hybrids for performance cars. Even Ferrari is using a hybrid system on the new La Ferrari which makes some 950 hp. If a car like the next Evo has the capability to run on electricity alone for short trips, think of the fuel savings it will bring. And, if the electric motors supplement the engine and can make 500 hp, think of all that torque and power available. You had better get used to it because this is the future of all performance oriented vehicles.
How very sporting of you to "accept the Evo X". Must have been quite a concession for you to do so. I happen to drive one of those inferior Evos, but pity me as I had a bout of temporary insanity when I bought it. And, I seriously doubt Mitsubishi cares if you boycott the car.

Not a lot of people are willing to adapt the future technologies, and you know what happens when people are not willing to adapt.
How? If performance cars are to survive in the future, they will have to make adaptations. Hybrid technology is moving ahead very quickly. Batteries are getting lighter and hold a charge better. Electric motors are getting more compact and more power as well as lighter. If they can supplement the engine and make this kind of hp, who cares? Personally, I am not against better fuel economy and efficiency in an Evo.
