R&T updated their Photo Galleries webpage with news of the MR coming to the US for around $33,000. Hmmm... should I sell my less than 1 month old 8?

http://www.roadandtrack.com/article....&page_number=1\

I still have my doubts if the MR'll come in unmolested and if will bring in more than 1500. Demand may outstrip supply.

That car is freaking awesome. My wife will never let me get another car though. I already pawned off the RSX Type S to her so I could get a STi. She does not like the stage 1 STi and I don't think she will take my argument that we really should have two awd high performance cars. But....but....but honey it is much safer than the RSX with AWD. You can do over 100 in the snow!

I think it was something like 1.5lb lighter per wheel. Not a big deal, plus it's a factory option in Japan anyway (non-standard).

I agree with evoWALO, if this thing comes unmolested then it'll be amazing. On the flip side, minus the 6MT/AYC/ACD it's just the same car...

The 300 lb weight savings has already been determined to be wrong. The tested weight was 3280 or 3290 according to the Road & Track article ("curb" weight is listed as 3085#). You would have to remove all four wheels and tires and the entire roof to save 300 lbs.

Haha man, no need to trade in until you know what the MR will be like here. No 6MT/SAYC/ACD, then the MR is just some minor upgrades that aren't worth it. I'm not even sure the 6MT will be worth the hit for the trade in price, even if it would be nice. Just know you have an Evo now and you're enjoyin' it!

Don't forget that this model will have to get the same bumper reinforcements that the US model has, if you notice that pictures in road and track, the bumpers are the japanese ones.

This will definitely add 100 lbs or so to this MR model, so in the end the weight difference won't be so great.

The front and rear crash beams are about 10-15 lbs. It's not early as much as people make it out to be.

NO they aren't my friend, i've taken off the rear bumper cover and trust me... the rear bumper reinforcement beam must weigh at least 35-50lbs... not 10lbs.

The only electronic thing the MR has over the USDM Evo8 are parts that all the real Evo8 overseas have, such as AYC and ACD, right? Is that what you're talking about? I guess the USDM one is fine without those features... I certainly don't think the USDM Evo HAS to have them either, but it might be nice.
