Evo MR write up in Road & Track
Wait, I just caught that.
The MR is NOT 300 lb less. Jeezus. There's no way in hell it's lighter than the RS version. The number you quoted is probably the Japanese weight of the car no including fluids. The number we quote here in the US I believe is with a full gas tank and fluids etc. It makes a big difference!

mhhhh.... I received a call there is a few day from my "Friend Mitsubishi" asking me if i want to exchange my Evo 8 to a Evo 8 MR
.
I reply well i don't know.... (I love my Yellow ) and is it really really really coming to US?
He said normally and Mitsubishi is wainting for Subaru to make it's move first.
Well, just wait and see.

Am I missing something??
The RS is coming for sure - my local dealer has 2-3 scheduled this year.
IF (still saying if) the MR would come, I doubt this year. They need to give time for the RS to sell. Also, not many current EVO owners would want to trade up this soon. I say give it another year, I'd be more likely to trade up to the MR in 2005 or 6.

Do you really think the people who by the first model year are the only people who buy the car? They already sold those and now to entice others they have to offer more. It's the same game that manufacturers have in every industry for the past hundred years...

I just think it's too early (2004) to send a higher powered car. Maybe as a 2005 at the earliest, which is the 'hint' I think.
The Dodge/Plymouth and Mitsu marriage is paying of... haha.
Was that the begining of rice? you know some japanese aero goof ball had to have gotten drunk with some of those nascar engineers one night and did that...

Can you point me to a link from any USDM magazine that even hoped the Evo VII was coming here? I've been an Evo hopeful since the early 90s Galant VR4 here in the US, did I miss something over the past decade?
