Well okay, but given the limited weight differnce between the two..
Whats the point?
It would seem that the "MR" encompasses the performance AND weight savings of the "RS" without sacrificing the equipment!
Now my question would be..
If you stripped an "MR" would you have a vehicle lighter than the "RS"..??? (aluminum roof)
??

You probably could get it lighter than the RS if you really got down to it. But, if you did the same stuff to the RS, my guess is that the RS would still come out lighter. But to argue for the RS guys, I would assume most guys buying the RS are using it as a track only car vs. daily drivers. For those of us who use the Evo as a daily driver, the GSR/MR would be the only way to go. (though I suppose you could get the RS with urban jungle package..)
Just picked up the magazine. oh the pics in person are so much better! Plus the race cars from japan compared are amazing! Good to see the Evo smoking the Altezza, STi, and rx8 race cars. This whole issue is incredible!

No no, the MR will not be lighter than the RS. That much I can guarantee. The MR uses the same GSR shell with the aluminum roof - the RS has it's own lightweight shell.

The Road & Track car looks like it may be an MR RS version given that it does have a radio blank-off plate in it.
I hate when people post " Man I should have waited!" If you want the newest version of our car or any car. Dont buy one. eventually there will be a newer version of our car. I am keeping my EVO VIII

The RS appeals racers and modifiers. If there are 700 people in the entire country that want that then it will be successful for them.
Remember the US is now the second largest market for Evo’s in the world.
Yep and then the Hoopty 9000, then the Dude r0xor leet mobile.. Things always get better. Be happy with what you got and never settle or compromise for less than what you want. No point in buying something your going to be stuck with for 4-6 years that isn't exactly what you want. It's better to save your money than get something you aren't completely satisfied with.
The EvoMR is to the Evo8 what the TME was to the Evo6. Which in a way sucks, because the TME completely overshadowed the 6 once it came out... (but the 7 didn't necessarily overshadow the 6). Oh well. I still love my car.

Plus, unless MR is confirmed with 6MT and ACD/SAYC, I don't see how it's much better than the normal GSR we already have. The alu roof is the only thing to jump for - the wheels, the suspension, etc, can all be easily upgraded with the difference in the MR price (or so I assume).
Of course, if you're into autox, the MR would be an awesome stock car if you want to stay in A stock (lighter weight and lighter wheels stock!)
