why would you trade in your EVo for the MR? If I didnt have the EVO now Id get the MR, but its redundant at this stage in the game.... its not like the Jump from WRX to the STi.... its more like the jump from 1993 NSX to the 95 , or 2000 S2000 to the 2004 S2000 , not a big deal.....

Personally, I think the biggest difference may be the 300lbs. THe ACD is nice, and I'm hoping the 6th gear is a wee bit taller than the US 5th. I prefer a mechanical diff in the back and oh yeah, hearing about the MR has put my Evo purchase on hold. SO who's going to be selling MRs at MSRP?

I am definitely considering trading in. I have no mods yet, so it's not like I have a ton invested in my car. As for depreciation, everywhere I look (KBB, Autotrader, etc.) has my car valued at about $27K. $33K-$27K=$6K. Taller 6 speed, AYC, more HP, more torque, stiffer Bilsteins and 300 less lbs.? For what, like, an extra $20 more a month? I think that's more than worth it. Plus the payments that I will have made will have given me a better credit rating. I can probably get a better APR and possibly lower payments as a result. I bought my Evo becase I felt it was the best. Now they have improved upon it and are essentially giving us the VII GSR. If you have money in your car and are satisfied, then by all means keep it. For me, I want the best car I can have. So I want to start with the best possible base to build on. The MR is it.

Your right Who Will be selling the MR for MSRP. (Hint) As of now, who would invest in Eron Stock ??? NOBODY!!!

The MR is going to be on extremly rare production, and thats if they actually do bring to the states. Heck I'm a manager for one of the dealerships and Even I can't get a stait answer out of Mitsubishi.

I'm pretty sure the first MR's to sell are going to be around $40,000 to $45,000 and the only dealerships that are going to be selling them are the ones who could actually sell the Evo8's they had in stock in the first place.

And that's my 3 cents.

The extra cent is for the people who don't give a s***.

hey guys. wouldnt the MR that the US would receive would be a watered down version as compared to the JDM version? just as mitsu did with the current 8 u guys have?
and plus what was the real reason u guys didnt get AYC and ACD?
is is not to cut cost?. because i know where i live we get the JDM version and its alot more $$$ than the US version.

so how many MR's are expected to be produced and sold in the U.S.? well, i would be happy with any evo, given that i'm only 18 and i'm going to be entering college... hmm should spend that money on the evo instead lol.

I know i guy at a mitsu dealership and he said last year that the 04's were coming out in spring of this year. And no one believed me last year. And yesterday they recieved two silver 04 evos. With the one having leather seats and the upgraded sound system. He told me in january that they were getting the MR around winter of this year so i believe him.

if mitsu is smart, they would have some sort of a 'upgrade' package to bring our evo close to the MR .. like LSD and 6 speed.. possibly other goodies.. im sure many would go for it.

For all of you who think that Mitsu would be stupid to market three different types of Evos in a niche market, you're right. That's why they're not. In Japan, every Evo is an MR. The GSR, RS 6 speed and RS 5 speed are all MR spec with the Bilstein shocks and aluminum roof. When the 2005 Evos arrive in the US, it will be the MR and most likely be the only model offered with the possibility of the RS being the second model. They no longer make the regular Evos with steel roofs and kyb suspension. Even in the UK, the only none MR left is the Evo 260. All 2005 Evos will be MRs here and abroad. I'm not a Mitsu official so I could be wrong but to me that's what I see happening.
