agreed hagakure, I am 100% happy with my current 03. By the way, the limits of my 03 are so damn high already, I still grin every time I corner hard. Well, I can't wait to see what they come out with next, but I am just happy to have an Evo at all. Anyway more power to the evolving of evolutions! I will keep my watered down, non-front lsd, sunroofed and steel roofed 271 bhp watered down 5 speed evo because that car my friends is still one hell of a ride.
Stay safe,
Punisher

People that will trade their 03 in for the MR are same people that will most likely do the same with the MR when the next best thing comes along.
People with money to blow don't care and I don't blame them.
But those that are willing to take a loss and are already struggling to pay off their 03 I feel sorry for.

#1 You just have to use a little sense. They just came out with the 04's Why would anyone chop off there foot by coming out with an 05 model in the same year.

#2 It's also 99% offical that they will not start production of 05's until December 04. That means the earliest you would be able to get it would be January 05

Also the limited production is 100% definate. only 800, you guys might *** well forget about msrp.

If you want call me or stop by my dealership. and I will show you proof. unfortunatly I can not scan and post this proof on the Web for it may have an effet on my job security here at mitsu.

IMHO, I think our EVO's are an endangered species here in the States.

1. They are having a hard time selling off the 03's. they are lowering prices under invoice just to get rid of them.

2. Mitsubishi is at a downhill descend on its car sales. Chrysler owns part of Mitsu and is trying to get out.

3. Mitsubishi used to be a strong #3 car maker in the states behind Toyota and Honda. Now they are behind Nissan which almost went under 5-6 years ago. ( thank God for those 3.5 liter engines they made for almost all their line-up ). And I think Hyundai just surpased them in sales this year. HYUNDAI!!!!!!!!!

4. As you all Know Mitsu warrantee is very strict upon modifications. they'll blame your cat-back for the grind in your 5th gear and make you pay. Warrantee is a big thing on any car maker , only Mitsu takes the harder hit due to its low income on its car sales. Figure they warrantee your trans or blown motor, thats $4-5K in parts + whatever labor they pay the mechanic whose doing the job. on a $30k car thats not much profit left. maybe even a loss.

So I think , just get your Evo's now ( any model ) for mitsu might pull the plug on our beloved EVO for these reasons. ( I hope I'm wrong)just take a look at the past supercars that came from Japan before the Evo:

Rx-7 died 1992 returned 2003 11yrs--- not the same - no turbo
300zx died 1996 returned 2003 7yrs---not the same- no turbo
3000gt died 1998
Supra died 1998 might comeback in 2006-7 --- no turbo but maybe a V8

do you guys see a trend here? If the Evo leaves U.S. shores we might not see it for 10yrs, and might come back with a V6 like what they did with the Eclipse.

Sorry for this long thread but I love my Evo
Evo's are meant to Evolve not to be Extinct

If I do decide to sell my evo it's not because I don't love it by anymeans hands down the best car I have ever owned and drove. My reasons will saving money cause my wife and I are both going back to school, investing, saving. But I would defiantely like to buy the MR in maybe a year a half. Gotta see the electron blue color because if it is the same as my 99 si. I am that much closer.

I am not sure what your boss is telling you but I just ordered 25 2005 Lancers. They will be on my lot by late august early sept. As for production dates they are already done building the 04's they are not going to wait until Dec. to build 05's. As for MSRP I know of a number of stores already selling pre-orders at MSRP, so it just takes some looking.

I haven't had any dealings with them so I won't get into anything like that...alot of times the sales managers won't give the sales staff the whole story so that they won't end up missing potential sales telling people about what might be coming. As for Santa Monica they sell a good number of cars so they must be doing something right. Just a little off on some of the things that got posted. No big deal...there are a lot of different stories out there right now.

No firm numbers yet...distrubution has said as high as 2000, but I wouldn't bet that high just yet. As soon as I know for sure I'll post.

Good luck getting 20k for it, hahahahahahahaha. One reason I dont buy 1st or 2nd year run models of new cars. MR or Supra, choices choices.
