Do you think the MR will sell?

Hi,

I'm new to the forums but I've been shopping the Evo for a long time. After reading as much as I could about the MR, I'm almost convinced to give my dealer a deposit now. He's offered to sell me his first allocation for sticker price.

(1) Do you think the MR will sell well? I bought an S2000 for sticker price in early 2001 when most dealers were charging MSRP plus $5K-$10K. Do you think Mitsu dealers will do the same with the MR?

(2) With all of the financial problems that Mitsu is having, should I look at the Spec C instead? Is it confirmed the Spec C is coming to the US?

Thanks for your advice.

1. I'm sure the first batch will disappear quick. After that, I think they'll sit. There are many new/used EVO's sitting on lots everywhere. I'm sure there will be markups.

2. Might want to check with NASOIC about Spec C info. How would financial problems effect you directly? I wouldn't worry. There are a lot brand products you buy which you don't know the company is struggling.

I plan on getting an Evo MR but i plan on waiting a while for the hype to go down. The most i'm going to wait is about a year after it comes out. and if i can't get a MR for under MSRP then i might us look for something else.

Of course Subaru (at least here in SD) says the spec c is only for Japan and Europe.

I think it depends on a couple of tings. Msrp, markups per dealership. There are others, for me those 2 are important, colors also like the electron blue, I want to see a pic of that color.

I'm putting my money down the second the dealer has pricing. As for gouging, the GM of my dealership said this.

"Well Rob, I'll say this. Me gouging a customer doesn't guarantee me a long-standing relationship with them. Sure, I'll get 'em once, but they won't come back to me, when I'd much rather have them for the another 20 years. I didn't charge a cent for the '03s when they first came out, and I'm sure not going to change my ways."

Remember folks, not all dealerships are evil. Knowing the folks there, I doubt I'll even pay MSRP.

Yes they will sell. This is probably the most talked about car on teh internet now. All of the
enthusiast will down on one. ALot of people will be trading in, and they will only be a limited production.
