What so special about MR??

http://media.mitsubishicars.com/deta...54184&mime=ASC

After reading that...so exactly is so special about MR??

I can only see..

6 speed tranny
BBS forged wheels
Bilstein shocks
Special MR color

but how much more does MR cost over std 05 EVO or 05 EVO RS??

Just wondering... since I believe most people will toss the shocks & BBS wheels
as soon as they got the MR... this really leaves the 6 speed tranny as the only
true performance advantage...

yup that's it. That's why I think the 05 rs is a better choice. At least for me who mainly track and autox the car.

Yes... unless the BBS wheels are significantly wider than regular EVO wheels..
(try 17x9)... I do not see the significant benefit of MR over RS....

Then again... it also depends on the price difference between the 3.

Looking at the gearing/rpm graph.... Looks like 6 speed will only benefit track...
will not help autocross much at all.

If you feel you can tune better than the factory for all around driving/tracks use good luck Why do you feel people will toss the BBS wheels?

well compared to the evo GSR 2005, the difference isnt huge... its an upgrade, not a whole different car...

I'm not saying I could or anyone could tune it better... but...

For Show...
A huge percentage will lower their car... in which some of them will toss the
bilsteins for Coilovers...
For Track...
Unless you're running stock class... you might want to buy a set of coilover
anyways...

Are the MR Bilsteins adjustable???

BBS wheels...

For show...
Too small

For Track...
Too narrow

But of course.. thats just my personal opinion...
This still comes down to how much more does a MR cost over regular EVO/EVO RSs....

also don't the mr's get a larger turbo of some sort? don't forget the acd, I could care less for it or the 6speed, sure the extra gear would be nice but I wonder how fragile the tranny will be, don't get me wrong I hope it's a bullet proof car and is flawless for all who shell out the extra but I prefer my minimalistic 03 Evo that I can pretty much fully service, I'm not hardcore enough for the RS though, in Texas a/c is manditory

I agree with you. It does come down to how much the price difference is with the 05 Evo/Evo RS. If its more than $3K, I don't think its worth it.

You're right, I have a deposit for an MR, but if the price difference is too much, I would probably get a 2005 Evo instead. I will have to see an RS before I decide if I want that, might be too hardcore for me.

The grey color is kindda cool though.

RS is cool.. but i will need to add A/C!!!

Grey color is cool too.. much like my techno-violet M3 having a M3 exclusive color...
but... of course, only other M3 owners appreciate that..

I don't think the MR and RS are really "competing" for buyers. The real debate would be whether to buy a stock MR or modify a base Evo (GSR). For what I would do with the car, the MR would be a better route - assuming the price delta is reasonable.
