Hrm, that's nice. But I don't know if this differential would be worth it. You have to maintain it, which typically is not a good thing. And on the track, compared to the stock differential or even the upcoming quaffe differentials are you going to gain anything?

I can't wait to see the published track times of this bad boy compared to the already slower STi. Subaru better bring the twin Scroll, faster steering ratio STi or is going to lay the smack down even if the HP is less. At this point who knows how much HP the MR will really have

Let the Scoobie VS. Evo war continue! We are the ones who bennifits . Anyways, I can't wait for my MR any longer Feels like i'm buying an evo for the first time all over again. Thanks for the info favre95

yeah no crap! I havn't been this excited since I was waiting for my first one! Hey it's my pleasure. Anything to help uncover some unanswered questions. I have a feeling mitsu uped the power more than we think. This is just a guess though....not fact! Why would they add all of this and bring a car that is still 24 HP less than the scooby. Again this is just my opinion.

thanks for the info favre!! This is definitely exciting! SCC last month quoted also that the MR would have S-AYC so that goes in conjunction with what you found so I'd say it's a pretty good bet.

My theory is Mitsu is actually bringing us FQ340 EVO MR with all the goodies, and they are keeping it secret for 4 reasons.

1. Allow dealers to sell off the remaining 04s.
2. Don't want to **** off the 04 owners.
3. Prevent used evo market price from collasping.
4. Kick Subaru A$$

Please tell me I am not dreaming

MR only or all 05 models?

Now I'm wondering if this hidden bonus will only be part of the MR package or for all the 05 models......makes the debate even harder now..

Good work Favre, that is S-AYC. The maintenance on S-AYC is much less than on AYC since the differential gearing is planetary (not overall drive hypoid gear but the gear cluster that provides the velocity differential). The older AYC was bevel gear based.

The one thing that has been bothering me about the removal of the intercooler water spray for the ACD is that the ACD just is not that big of a system. The ACD controller is in the passenger side of the transmission tunnel.

If it is located on the passenger side where the windshield washer fluid was than it all makes sense. It also make sense if it is an MR only feature, since there was not much difference between the MR and an ’05 EvoVIII otherwise.

The other thing that would help confirm this would be some addition firmware/software upgrades to the MUTII. They use this unit to test and bleed the SAYC control hydraulics. If you find that it would be pretty certain. Good way to get back at Subaru.

I love the Evolution/STi rivalry. Improves the breed.

FQs are not coming, they are not a Mitsu corp package and could not meet emissions in the UK or here. In the UK the importer (Colt Car Company) is allowed to add it after the SVA emissions import testing of the cars.

Looks like AYC to me.

The only thing I could think of that would indicate that it is not coming is if they put the part in the catalog, even though it was not available. The 03 EVO owner's manual shows that the rear wing is adjustable, even though it isn't.

But then again, why would they put something into a parts catalog that they really don't have?

I guess we'll see...

well in the previous 03 and 04 cataloging this was not there. I updated all of our computers about 3 or 4 days ago. Then this was there. So is the 6spd, the MR wheels, 6spd shifter, and so on....

Well, all it needs now is SMT (SMG). Then, and only then, will I be convinced that I should trade my '03 in for an MR.

Cool stuff...
