Personally I like the Recaro Seats in the 03 evo's they hold you a lot better than the leather ones do and I think they are more comfortable and the blue/black color pattern looks a lot better than plain black leather seats. As far as the stereo goes Who the hell cares. I mean does any one really keep a stock stereo in the EVO ?

I would assume that if you paid the dealer enough he would swap leather from another car to yours. It's very easy to do, the only thing might get in the way would be the stickers stating equipped options.

I don't care much for music, I like to hear the motor working and when applicable, the tires squealing. Leather in an evo for a performance oriented driver would be a let down, even with their great support. You will slip and slide even still, unless your jammed in with a 4 point or better thus detracting from your evo driving experience. Unless of course, the leather is preforated on the contact patches with some sort of sued or other adhesive material.

how ridiculous. The Ferrari division of Fiat, well known and regarded in the automobile industry has been involved in racing over the past century (although not exactly). All their cars today are super fast and handle extremely well. The top model for 2003 was the enzo which is essentially a real race car (F1) which by the way came with leather. This nonsense that the evo is a race car is not true. It way be fast but not as fast as the ferrari enzo, the evo may handle extremely well, but not as well as the enzo. My point is this the evo is not really a race car but rather a niche car that could potentially go racing. Leather should be standard. That doesn't mean that the cloth seats are bad, but as I explained, the "race car image" just doesn't suit for the evo.

Here is a link of what a real road race car is. You can clearly see that the ferrari enzo has leather

So what does this have to do with the slippery leather evo seats?

it has to do with the fact that leather is standard on a much more extreme car.

Maybe Enzos are for looking at and Evos are for driving. Could be the seats are different shaped than the Evos? I am just more comfortable in a cloth seat. I prefer them in any car. The JDM VII seat is a great cloth seat. It had silk inserts on the inner side of the lower bolsters. I am glad the MR comes with cloth because I ordered one and I don’t like leather. It is more about function for me, not fashion. Good cloth can last a long time. I have owned both.

Also if you want leather seating you can spend the money and switch out the seats. BTW, would you rather have cloth of leather underwear?

True, but that's much higher grade leather as well.

Good leather isn't the junk that I have in my Eclipse. That's hard, shiny, flat, and just... bad. Really bad. Stuff you'll get in the prancing horse has some very slight texturing to it, and is much softer.
