And the MR/ '05 Evo has made some significant strides also.

they also state that the MR has a 5000rpm rev limit when clutch pedal is pressed, no intercooler sprayer, no active yaw control

man theres no way that they could be that identical... the evo is rated at 276hp sti is rated at 300.... If thats true figures for the USS model then WOW... but if they are using a FQ model then shame on them

And the weight is within something like 17 lbs of each other. Could be the six speed, but those seem like odd numbers to me. Even the traps are funny. 100 for an STi? Ratios didnt change, neither did the powerband. What gives? Is Mitsubishi suddenly grossly underrating the hp in the MR? Why do that? Those figures almost seem reversed. For example, how can the MR be making more torque at a lower rpm when it has .5L less displacement, a larger turbo and no VVT stuff??

Let me say here that if these are actually correct, than the Evo got a lot better! Awesome

Wow, looks like the MR has more hp based on the trap speed and weight. I do believe shifting to 5th on the STi slowed it down but the trap speed speaks for itself. The Evo MR probably has 300hp but I don't understand the torque. What gear was used for the dyno pull?

Anyways, i'm more concerned about the handling. What are the lap times and handling figures?

The MR lapped Willow Springs at 1:34.38. The STi at 1:35.37.

600ft slalom, MR 70.1mph, STi 69.7

skidpad, MR .92, STi .90

This is the American MR edition. The MR dyno'd higher than the STi by 6 AWHP. They said it seems like either Mitsu underrated the HP figure, or Subaru overrated theirs.

In one Motor Trend test, the regular (03) Evo did:
0-60 in 4.69 sec,
1/4 in 13.08 @ 105.12 mph
600ft Slalom, 71.4
0-100=12.45 sec.

Although tested at different times, the 03 without the active diff and front limited slip is pretty good.
