Although I've been using a completely different type of MAF sensor for my blowthrough setup, I wholeheartedly feel that MAF is superior to speed density for all the same reasons that everyone else has stated. And FWIW I've been running my setup for over 2 years now with stock drivability and never had to do any major revisions or calculate any VE tables to get the car to even run. The stock MAF is actually around 3.5" in diameter also, but because of the technology used inside the sensor, its very sensitive to vibrations and turbulence, which makes tuning the stock MAF difficult and inconsistent, which is the REAL reason why you would switch the sensors over. Don't kid yourself about the "less restriction" BS, yes, nothing in the airstream is less restrictive than something there, but you would have to be moving a significant amount of air (and producing a significant amount of horsepower) for it to even be a concern for 90% of the cars. Some really high HP evo's are still running stock MAF sensors..

Anyway, even though I differ in opinion on which MAF works better for our application, both are a better choice than speed density, and if you do have trouble tuning your stock MAF, then this might be an option for you. This type of upgrade doesnt really directly gain horsepower...

'preciate it man, but that thing is done and done. works very well. The ecu+ works w/ all the commonly used gm mafs (ss impala, ws6, vette) 3" 3.25" and 3.5" I believe they come in. poke around the dsm world to get more info on em.

See post #15 in this thread. Right now the 3" MAF, later the 3.5" one. Ivan C will be testing the 3.5" one, but I just haven't had time lately to get the calibration done on that one.

im curious, im coming from a UTEC and i wanted something that would work alittle better, have i come to the right place?

this is my situation,

I know that i want a little bigger turbo than stock, but dont want bigger than a 35r. which is too much for what i drive everyday.

I currently have
Comp 280s
turboback
all supporting mods.

I just want someting that will give me the ability to setup to a 35r if i really wanted too, but still stay obd II

I just sold my UTEC and Turner pro cause of my interest with ECU+

I'm not sure if this is the right THREAD for your question....start a new one and I'll answer there. What part of the UTEC didn't meet your needs?
