Experiance with ScanGauge II?

Has anybody tried the Scan Gauge II?

http://www.scangauge.com/

I plan on performing some engineering test on my EVO and this seems like a simple way to get some in sight into many of the ECU's operating parameters.

Mainly I want to know if the following function on the Scan Gauge II works on an 2003 EVO8

MPG (Mile per Gallon)
TPS (Throttle Position Sensor)
MAP (Manifold Pressure)
IGN (Ignition Timing)

Thanks for your feedback

Garbage for $170.

Get Evoscan for $15 and log a boatload more parameters.

Thanks for the info and your opinion. But what I'm looking for is a stand-alone system where I can view near real-time data without leaving my laptop in the car. And frankly, $170 is dirt cheap for what it claims to do if it works.

I just want to know if the following functions are available through OBD-II with the 2003 EVO 8.

MPG
TPS
MAP
IGN

Timing only.

Here is what you get with evoscan.

Not true. The OBDII will give you TPS and I believe it will give MAP from -14.7psig to 0psig(not sure on the MAP).

However, EvoScan is MUCH better. The sample rate of the standard OBDII is just too slow for tuning purposes. You also get lots more variables to log.

There is no map sensor on an evo. Only a mdp sensor. FYI.

Besides the acronym and purpose, what's the difference? It won't read positive gauge pressure regardless of what you call it.

It is a pressure differential sensor not able to be accessed by any logger I have ever seen. Very low range also.

TTP: I thought EVOScan could log the MAP/MDP sensor quite easily.. I'm almost certain.

No palmlogger can. Evoscan can, but only up to 1bar 14.5psi which does no good.
