p2e flash TO custom flash
Sorry of the title, I fat fingered it..
I am planning a custom tune locally to upgrade my p2e w/boost tube.
Is it going to be an issue since boost is controlled by the cpu or when I get a custom tune is it going to defeat the purpose of a mail in tune?
I bought the p2e because I can get a custom tune locally that does ecuteck flashes.
Just wondering. Any info is appreciated.

Sure you can change the tune, but the tuner may not want to mess with the boost tables since now they will be set in a fashion that will control the WORKS proprietary boost hose.

Thats what I mean. The boost hose is exactly the same as the factory hose with the exception is it does not have those little metal pills in it.......
So with just the works hose and no flash the car would boost really high.
With the works flash and factory hose you will only get about 14psi.
So they tables are set lower.
My question is I know I can have a tuner adjust a/f and what not, but can a local tuner not "works" be able to change my boost through the cpu to say 22psi instead of the 20?
The EcuTek allows your local tuner to load their maps onto the ECU, which will overwrite all WORKS Brain Flash software and replace it with their own. Because of this, we would highly recommend removing the WORKS Boost Hose assembly and reinstalling the OEM one. Otherwise, boost levels will increase beyond the realm of safety. The WORKS Brain Flash P2 and hose assembly were designed in conjunction with one another and were never intended to be used separately.

I was under the impression that since I have the p2e that a tuner that tunes with ecutek would be able to change some parts of the brain flash in order to gain me more power. lean out some, raise boost a psi or 2, or change some of the timing.
I guess I need to jump on a dyno and see where I am at before I make any concrete decisions.

just wondering, i thought the works ecu controlled boost electronically, i mean, the hoses of which you seem to be talking about, do they feed to a sensor of some sort? if so, how do the hoses affect boost?

There is little metal pill like things in the factory hose. I guess these allows only a certain only a certain amount of vacuum to the solenoid thus decreasing the boost to a factory level.
The works hose doesn't have this.
Maybe Jamie can tell you better than me.
From my understanding a stock ecu with boost hose would cause you to have too much boost that isnt' safe. with the works flash and factory hose you will have about 12-14psi and with the works brain flash and their boost tube you will have a 20psi across the powerband.
The WORKS Boost Hose assembly feeds the same sensor as the original. It's internals allow it to function differently, which gives the Brain Flash software the ability to reach and hold higher boost levels and avoid the taper that is present to begin with. The WORKS Engineers have gone about this with an OEM-style approach and have done it right. There's no absence of one or both pills nor is there any unregulated bleeder design (both practices are substandard and do not allow for sufficient control). In the end you have an effective electronic boost control system that is controlled via the WORKS Brain Flashed ECU.
