Once you remove the restricitor pill, you'll have to lower the wastegate duty cycle because it'll boost higher for a given duty cycle. I lowered it to 80 in the 3k-4k range. The value for wastegate duty cycle maxes out at 127.5.
I went for a highway drive and was flooring 4th and 5th gear where ever it was reasonable and been adjusting my settings. I came up with some new setting but probably won't have the chance to test them out until next weekend.

I installed the manual boost controller today and set the boost to spike to ~ 23psi and fall to ~ 21psi by redline. The car was nosing over due to knock so I reworked the tune.
Disgusted with the stock map, I scrapped the whole section where the car goes into boost to redline and made my own timing map. Finally, the knock is completely under control and I can hot lap the car having to worry about it anymore. The map is pretty crude and probably leaves a little power on the table where it initially goes into boost but the 18psi+ area is doing exactly what I want. I can really hear the exhaust struggling to get out. I have a feeling that with a 3" down pipe, deleted catalytic converter and 3" cat back with a free flowing muffler I might be able to run more boost/timing without encountering knock.
Once I was satisfied with the tune based on 3rd gear pulls from 3000-7500rpm I decided to do one launch (hate to beat on a stock clutch too much).
I had a pretty good launch this time, just a little bit of wheel spin:

it looks like the run is 1 tenth faster and I gained it in the better 60' time. So I'm running more boost but had to reduce timing to do it which negated the gains. However, I'm not disappointed because the old tune with less boost and more timing was unpredictable.. I'd have different knock counts every other run so I'm sure the 1/4 mile times would not be consistent like that.
I kept an eye on the Injector pulse width and NB02's to make sure they didn't show signs of leaning out, they didn't do anything unexpected so I believe fuel pressure is adequate for the mods/boost I'm running.
I'll probably wait until I get a downpipe before I install the WB02 and start playing with a/f. I don't know about EVOs yet but my stealth at 20psi on 93 octane absolutely loves high timing and a very rich afr. I picked up 4mph with that technique. It went from 121 to 125mph traps on pump gas.
here's come pics of my 20.00 manual boost controller I bought years ago for the Stealth before I upgraded to the Greddy Profec E-01 EBC.

thanks, I'm looking at your mod list and I think we're going to have a simular setup.
right now I'm planning on going with the HKS 272's and BR 20gLT and possibly the BR TBE since it has proven numbers and I like the idea of shedding a few lbs here and there.
any idea what whp you're at on pump gas?

have no idea, however, WORKS predicts that i would be close to the 340hp range because of the set up.
get a FP evo GREEN, 272s, and a decent exhaust. you will easily hit 320hp. it just seems that everything that BR tests-if it is his product-is high on his dyno. numbers can be very skewed from dyno to dyno.

I've been driving the car to work for the past few days on the new tune and I'm really enjoying it better on the interstate. The power delivery when shifting down to 4th at 80mph is so much smoother and stronger since it isn't being interrupted by knock and timing being pulled.
I'm waiting on income tax returns to do the second stage of mods which will most likely be:
stage 2
WB02
walbro 255lph fuel pump
injectors
exhaust
02 housing
cams
head bolts
stage 3 will likely be:
20G LT turbo
better front mount intercooler
that should put the car over 400awhp and really increase the fun factor

I really like the way you are comparing HP numbers after mods on the same measurement tool, should be nice to see some solid evidence of mods working. I wanted to comment on that mean *** 60' in your sig, 1.64 is beastly keep up the good work

thanks, I'll do this every step of the way as I do a mod that should affect HP/ET/TRAP. I should have some more mods on the car within a month from now.

I just spoke with Nick at Buschur Racing about their exhaust.
Nick said the TBE with the Bullet muffler isn't that loud and recommended it over their other muffler option because it's lighter and flows better.
I told him I'll probably be going with their 20G LT bolton turbo eventually so he recommended the 680cc injectors.
I had a few PM's about the Stealth, here is a vid of it in action: It's resting in the garage currently while the EVO is getting all of the attention
this was the season opener and my only track visit in 06. The wb02 sensor died on the way to the track so I wasn't able to lean it out safely so I kept the boost to 25psi instead of 30-34psi
The clutch pedal wasn't adjusted properly so I was having a hell of a time with the launches and shifting. I fixed it as soon as I got home and it made all of the difference in the world.

I was checking out this thread https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sh...d.php?t=201146
and there appears to be a stock 05 evo rom available for download. I loaded it up to compare it to the tune that came with my car and it's entirely different...much less timing and much righer air/fuel, lower 2-step launch rpm, lower rev limit, higher boost cut limit etc...
clearly whomever owned the car before me had it tuned, based on the amount of knock I was seeing with that tune I'd guess he had to of been using meth/alky/water injection or race gas and left this tune in the ecu when he traded it in for another car.
I'm thinking about loading up that stock 05 tune to see how it performs and then tweaking it:
here's what the stock 05 evo a/f and timing maps look compared to what was in mine when I bought it:
check out the difference in the timing at idle/vacuum...wtf??also notice how much more timing the previous owner was running above stock at WOT/High boost

it may be hard to make out but bacially the a/f is about a full point leaner than stock.

of course I'm not running that jacked up tune anymore, I made my own and it's seeing 0-3 knock counts max and doing it at 21psi to redline instead of the old tune that saw 10 counts at 16psi to redline.

my buddy Ron and I went out to lunch and loaded up the bone stock 05 evo factory tune.
I set the boost to 21psi, added 1 degree of timing and quelled knock by adding a little more fuel. The stock ignition is pretty good and had no problem burning the extra fuel.
I did one g-tech 1/4 mile run and layed it over my previous best. The new one is in black. I had a good launch but I threw it away on my lazy 1-2 shift
even so, the car managed to eclipse the previous best mph slightly. I'm sure with some better shifting I would have gotten under that 12.7x run I had before. The peak hp is up some but the important thing is that the HP and TQ at each RPM range is much better than before, so the car feels strong. The added timing is keeping the HP up all the way to redline now whereas the old tune with a leaner a/f and less timing had the HP falling off badly.
again, I think the stock exhaust has become an issue so I'll be addressing that asap.

I have the Tuner Tools walbro 255 pump at the house now, the turbo 02 housing from ebay should be in today. I was going to get 680cc injectors but found that I needed 780cc just in case I want to run race gas boost levels sometime so I ordered those today from Buschur. I also ordered Buschur Racing's 3" turbo back exhaust with a cat converter delete pipe and bullet muffler. Hopefully it won't be too loud for a daily driver. I also ordered a replacement WB02 sensor for my LM-1 from Tuner Tools today.
once these are installed and I re-work the tune I'd be done with my Stage 2
the next round of mods will be my stage 3 - HKS 272 cams and ARP head bolts, maybe timing tensioner and a fresh belt.
after that, stage 4 will be an upgraded clutch and the Buschur Racing 20G LT turbo which should put me to ~ 400awhp on pump gas boost levels (21psi)

glad you're enjoying the thread, I might get started on the fuel pump install this weekend weather permitting. It'll be interesting to see how the car performs afterwords. I suspect that I might be richer at high rpm where the stock pump might have been low on fuel pressure.
