selectable map tuning options?
I have done a buch of searching and turned up a few things but Im sure that I have over looked some also. I have a p2 flash now but eventually will need multiple maps for meth/track/street/ect. I am looking into getting a wideband but have been told that I should figure out what software&tuner Im going to be using first and then narrow down my wideband options. So for a mild street car (fp green or 50trim at most, with meth) What are my tuning options? Also Im in the bay area so if anyone knows off the top of their head who's local and what they are using that would be great.
As of yesterday, I've modified the stock ECU on my IX to switch between timing and fuel maps - it flicks the octane value manually from 0 to 100% and back using Evoscan - so it doesn't have to be reflashed to switch maps. I use a boost controller so I've not implemented boost switching. I need to disable the ECU's own logic which will raise the octane value towards 100% again after you've switched it to 0% but that is easy. Then just transfer the work to the other ECUs. Hopefully we'll have a bank of map switch ECUs available soon if I get on with it
If the thought of using a laptop and Evoscan to switch it too much hassle, JoeBee's little AVR board would easily be able to do this when he develops it further.
Depends how experimental you want to be and whether your tuner will play with open source stuff.
I'm sure others will advise on the standalone options.

Considering my knowledge on tuning is very little, this sounds like a complete pita, plus the lap top I own is a mac and although its capable of running windows Im not sure if its worth the money for the software. I have been considering getting the cobb access port when its released but I dont know of any tuners that will be using it other then fine line imports.
