What EGT are people seeing

I just installed an Autometer EGT Sport Comp II on my 05 MR tonite . Currently the car is stock with the exception of Forge EVO15 DV and Forge WGA plus my own custom flash . Car runs 22-23 max with taper to 19 at 7K . On 93 octane, I consistently log very few knocksums 1-2 cells of 2-3 ks 2500- 3500 thats it. 230-240 load region

what EGT should i be seeing at this level of tune ? I havent even started the car yet..too tired after work, cutting the yard and then doing the install LOL

Jack Ted ? any experts ?

Thanks

Wow 37 views and no responses ... OK i get 900 F at idle and 1100-1200 F driving around no boost. WOT for short bursts like 1-2-3 I get 1500-1600 F

I will coorelate this to my wideband soon ...cruise and WOT pulls

1350-1400F Cruise at 85mph IIRC
950F Idle
1150-1250 Light Cruisde
1402-1725F at WOT (Beginning 3.5k - 7k- highest temps are for a slight moment after 6k)

Of course in a perfect world 1650f is the max you would want.

Sounds about right, but depends on your mods.

Are those readings pre or post turbo ?
I installed my EGT probe after the turbo, I am wondering what my max reading should be since the probe is not at the hottest point of the engine.

Those are pre turbo. Its hard to get an accurate reading post turbo.

BoostEEd,

Is there a conversion factor or add on guestimate that can be used to determine the
safeness of my EGT reading.
Mine is in the downpipe, I go as high as 1325f I do not sustain that temp for a long time as I am not sure how safe it is to do so.

Yes and no.

Mine was there when I bought it. I think I considered 1400 or so my redline. Not sure really. Its hard to say how much heat is dissipated in the turbo. I actually had two senders hooked up at the same time and meant to compare them but I have switched downpipes now. There is talk around here cause I know I asked that same thing when I first got my evo just trying to figure what the safe limit is....

I'll see if I can find it.
