MoTeC or GEMS???

just curious as 2 y there are not any subforums for either of these ECU's??????

all of the fastest EVO's in Europe (FQ-400 has MoTeC) use 1 or the other. i know that over at Dentist Mapped, they made 400WHP on a stock EVO just using MoTeC. alot of guys on MLR really like the flexibilty & affordability of GEMS.

is it bcuz they are more expensive than the US options? or is it the limited # of tuners in the US who can actually tune either ECU?

just curious bcuz i will b using either or depending on which one can meet the new ROHS emissions standards coming out soon...

I have used both on evos.
The Gems is the Aem here in the US.

400hp is easily doable on both these and even a stock ecu.

As mentioned, AEM is basically Gems, so we have a subforum for that.
Motec is a very high end specialized (race oriented) engine computer, and due to cost, and lack of good MOTEC tuners, it is not as popular in the USA on street driven cars.

For the vast majority of people, FCON, AEM, Autronic, can all get the job nicely done. Every tuner will have their preference.
