Need Help Installing Wideband

I swooped on a killer deal on a TechEdge Wideband. I received it today and was excited to see that it was complete with the Unit, LCD, Cables, and O2 sensor.

But now my problem is how do I go about installing it and integrating it with Evoscan (if possible). I know how to install it on the downpipe and the wiring speaks for itself. I just need to know how I can get it set up properly to start data logging the right way. Could I get it to work the same if I get a serial to usb conversion cable?

There is a chance it could just be plug-n-play, though EvoScan doesn't directly support that specific model. I'd suggest getting the serial > USB adapter and just give it a try with EvoScan. Try out the different wideband options from the wideband menu to see if one works. If not, you could always contact Hamish to see if he can add support for you.

I did my own install on a Innovative wideband. For the placement of the o2 censor it stated to make sure you have it between 10 and 2 o'clock postion and not below only above them this way there can be no moisture build up sitting in the censor. I located mine on the down pipe more towards the firewall and intake manifold. I just took a look first to see where it would be best to put and marked it then i took off the down pipe drilled the hole and welded the bung on. Its not hard at all as long as you got tools. I didnt so i had to run around to friends houses but what ever still got done. Im not to sure on the compatibility with Evo scan but i do know you can buy the serial adapter from radio shack for 40$ and it comes with a driver to install. Just make sure all the connections stay tight or tape them up or what ever because there real finicky if there moved at all while the program is running. Dont know if any of that helped but let me know if you need any other info maybe i can help you on. The labor part anyway.lol.

Oh, remember ... if that unit has a calibration feature, calibrate it before you attach the sensor to the downpipe to save yourself the trouble.

There is a calibration featurethat I found through the WBO2 (Tech Edge) website. Should I calibrate before I install everything? Or Calibrate it w/ the O2 sensor out?

Whats Hamish's username or email that I can contact him at?

Just leave the O2 sensor out for the free air calibration.

I believe his username is "evo4mad."

Mine is about 4" before the cat/TP in the 12:00 position. I built a carbon switchplate in the arm rest cubby to mount the calibration switch, status LED and a serial/USB converter for the data connection.

The TechEdge v1.5 that I have comes already in a box, should I do like yours and make it more easily accessed or can I mount it somewhere where I can get to it when I need, say in the lower cubby.

Where should I mount my lil LED display?

I like your idea though, alot. The CF makes it a bit more of a cleaner look then say if it were a plastic cut out.
