ebc's and different wga

I just swapped from the oem wga to fp hp wga, so I turned the boost from the high setting on my ebc to the low for a starting point.

Everything went smoothly adjusting boost, but I noticed a huge difference in spool so I adjusted the gain.. I am now running almost max gain compared to the oem wga running a few clicks..

anyone know why? just the wga ? Only thing I changed ... preload is set correctly also.

the Fp is an 18psi actuator, which means it wont and cant peak any lower than 18psi... What are your settings for your Greddy EBC? You shouldnt have your Gain as high as it can go. You most likely have a very inconsistant boost curve.. Are you tuned yet? I see that you are also running cosworths??

If you are running those mods without a tune, thats just insane...

Let me know what your settings on your boost controller are. I can help you.

I fixed it.. it was a mechanicle issue.. pinhole in a vac line..

I know how the gain on the 3-4 tick mark on my type S.

I am tuned for my green and 22psi, but no tune for the cams yet.

no knock, little rich... and i'm sure i was get a few more ponies once i get back to the dyno..

i like the fp over oem on green. Seems like I hold boost a little more consistently.

ya thats cuz the FP doesnt taper. And when you install cams, your car pulls a bigger load and you will knock. And the cosworths have alot more flow, so your pushing more boost regardless of the EBC's settings. I highly doubt your not knocking.. unlike any other bolt on part, the cams determine how your car operates.. lol. tune that .

oh, and just make sure, your tuner uses a good mivec map, or atleast knows what he is doing when it comes to mivec. Mivec will determine your power, and it greatly effects other aspects of your tune..

post some hp/tq numbers when you get it tuned..

and if you are still running rich after your cams were installed, then that just tells you, that you were very rich before your cams.

Naturally, cams will lean out your AFR, more air is being let into the combustion chamber..
