Having a Spark crisis...Dont know wat the hell happened!

Having a Spark crisis...Dont know wat the hell happened!

My Evo 8 has never given me any problems and is well maintained, it has all the basic upgrades, intake exhause bov boost control clutch and flywheel. Theres no really big upgrades like cam turbo wat not. Any how, the other day i was cruzing at like 25-30 mph and heard something under the car as if it fell out of my engine. the car continued to drive another 1/4 mile when all of a sudden the motor cut out. all the power was still on but when i tried to start, the engine turned but would not start. i looked under the hood and everything seemed normal, timing belt good and in tact, looked under the car and the serpentine belt had split in half and it was hanging from under the car, and the other half was still installed and taut. i did the basic checks and found im not getting a spark now. all looks well but i have no idea wat it could be, really stressed out, does anybody have an idea of was it could be,..ur help would be very greatly appreciated!

please tell me you replace the serpentine belt...
no alternator means no starting for you.

take some pics man, start with that belt you broke hopefully u didnt break anything else.... the motor cut out prolly because the battery wasnt recharged...so replace the belt, then try to start it.

yup.. if the alt isnt spinning the ecu thinks something is wrong and probably puts in in safe mode or something like that

^^uve smoked urself retarded, actually the alternators job is only to power the battery, and while running its also runs all your accessories, so when that is no longer charging the battery drains down in voltage and cranking amps, to the point where it cant keep the engine going, then it just cuts out.
