Stock Block and Tune Potential Questions

3 questions forum. I'm finishing up the installs on my current sig and going to be tuning for optimization, part by part. Now, I read that just a tune alone can yield over 300 hp on stock parts. I am excited but I want to know if numbers like this are true. Has anybody hit over 300 hp on stock parts with just a nice tune?

Question number two. How far can I push the stock block before needing to have it built a bit or do I even need to have it built at all? I would like to reach 400 HP but not much higher than that at all. I want a daily driver that owns.

Number 3 is do I have to get the tranny built at all to stomach that much power?

400tq is about the max you want to see on stock motor. I'm stock motor/stock turbo/stock transmission at 400whp/tq

400whp isn't a stretch at all. 400wtq at 7500rpm is ~570whp. Quite a few people have made more than that on stock blocks...

I think he means stock parts as in stock cams, turbo, etc.

If you keep cams & turbo stock and address the bottlenecks.. like

get a 3" full exhaust setup
get a good quality boost controller / 3 port or manual
use good quality fuel
have a good tuner that knows what the engine wants
have enough fuel delivery

then you should make high numbers.. higher then 300whp yes. (depending on fuel)

it all depends on the fuel you use though and the person behind the tuning.

for example i got stock blocks going 130mph+ .. one almost 140.

every engines different.. so just keep the torque down and you should be fine.

The stock cams on the evo 9 are like the evo 8 HKS 272 cams though just for reference.

The 9 turbo is a good 3-5lb/min bigger also then the evo 8.

okay. I'm going to finish up my Sig and I would like to up the boost to max what the stock turbo can take. now how much can I push with stock injector size? I got a wally255 but no
injectors just yet. can I get fuel in the chamber through higher duty cycles or do I wait for bigger injectors before boost adjustments?
