power loss with bolt ons

My car has never been tuned and recently I put on a few basic bolt ons; 3in turbo back exhaust, speedelement omg cone filter. After putting on these bolt ons the car actually feels alot weaker, especially after 5000 rpm the power feels like it tapers down dramatically. There's no vacuum or turbo leaks and all the parts were installed correctly. My question is can I actually lose power if I use bolt ons without a tune? And also if it's worth getting a tune when there's no heavy mods. Side note before bolt ons boost peaked at 20psi after the bolt ons it peaks at 21psi

Yes you can lose power because of not being tuned.

As was stated above, You are probably now going through a range of you map that is either too rich, too lean, or has too much ignition timing. This is in turn causing you to lose power. You should get ahold of Tscompusa and have him send you a revised map to get you around on and then buy a wideband so he can fully tune your car. Even on stock components you can gain 40-50 whp by getting a tune. I dont understand why more people dont just start out with a tune honestly lol...

I can answer that. It's because they do not think they need it. Alot of people who don't understand the tuning side of it figure the car runs so time to mod. Little do they know the evo runs extremely rich from the factory. I mean the first thing we all do is exhaust and intake do we not?

Getting a tune will net you more power, not even including the parts you put on.

I had same issues after a handful of bolt on's. Tuning is the answer to your question. Get yourself a flash cable and evoscan. Start logging and understanding what you car is doing.
