OFFICIAL VIPEC THREAD - V44 PnP & V88 Thread
llabmik, do you think it would be ok to use the clutch signal for the flatshift feature ? I see it's really geared for having a dog box and strain lever, because it doesn't even let you pick di8. I will need to splice or repin..
And getting there , I was not seeing wgdc for stationary or launch control, how are you able to control the wastegate on launch? I'm using open loop boost.
Wastegate is opening on two step

Yeah, I use the clutch switch for FFS and launch control.
What settings are you using for launch? Cutting fuel or spark? How much timing are you retarding? How much fuel are you adding?
You can make a secondary wastegate table controlled by a virtual aux, that says if speed is below a certain speed, and clutch pedal is active, activate virtual aux. Then you setup up your wastegate control for 2 tables and have the second table reference the virtual aux. That way when you are stationary it wil use the WGDC you setup.
You can also change the axis on boost control table to gear ratio and do boost by gear. You will have to setup your gear detection under digital inputs but that is easy. Get rolling, keep the speed steady and select the gear you are in, then push the throttle down easy to get a RPM/speed reference, then switch it to off, go to the next gear get steady again, and switch vts to read that gear. The do it again till all gears are read.

Spark cut reducing timing by 25, Not using absolute timing values . Adding10% fuel. I'll have to play with the virtual aux I didn't come up with that as an idea. This is very flexible. Makes about 20 psi on lc but I'd like to keep it about there with the wastegate shut and settings adjusted correctly.
Thank you again sir for your help! Wish more people would use this ems! We use it on our 7.62s snowmobile in the quarter!

I am trimming boost by gear 1d table at the moment, wasn't hard to set that up. I haven't delved I to the cl control as I want to get a clearer picture of stages before I do. The help file has a ton of info there just haven't had time

The CLBC does really well as long as you have your wastegate settings right before you set them up. I don't use it much on my evo, but I do use it on my MINI, and other turbo MINI's I have tuned. The nice thing about the MINI platform is the DBW setup. You do some pretty trick things with that and ALS, FFS, LC, and TC.
Omg... I have got to Google snowmobile racing or tuning now. Lol. I never would have imagined something like that. I have been following this thread but have never used the EMS so have had no comments until I read that. I don't live somewhere that gets much snow but if I did I would probably have a new thing to dump money into.
No problem. I tune this ECU all the time. Mostly in the MINI world but it applies to every thing. Once you get bored of the V series you should upgrade to the G4+ Black. Lots more features, lots more I/O, and DI's. Vipec is going to be the power sports division and link is going to be the autosports from the latest I have heard.

I have a dbw set up , but the pnp doesn't support it

Yes this sled runs vp import on a gt 30 76 .. we're the 5or 6 fastest in the world and they don't do 1320 anymore. Sadly a kid hit the barrier and died a few years ago at 175+. I was the first responder and it made our danger very real.
OSP Nick Washburn is the 10th member in the 7 sec…: my dad when we made it in the 7 second club .. we went faster after that

Was there an external controller that actually worked? And could be commanded by the ecu to do certain things ? I miss the Subaru shutting the throttle just before redlining etc .. hah
I'll buy a link for whatever I get next be it a raptor or a frs ( &%$# direct injection lol )

Yeah it worked. You didn't have the maps like you do in the ECU when its controlling it also the map switching capability. It was a little different but the piggyback DBW did work.
On the Rotrex MINI's we use the ECU DBW tables to bring the throttle to about 35% at the max rev. As the Rotrex hates hard rev limits when its shaft is spinning close to the limit. We set the hard limiter about 8500 but have the throttle start decreasing at about 7650-8250 so they will never hit the hard limit unless they miss a shift or something.

Llabmik, when I enable cl bc my resulted boost is 5-6 psi below my open loop baseline. Meaning my wgdc in open loop is set at 25 and when I enable closed loop I get 19-20. That's using reccomended settings and the example settings, plus I've changed them around a good bit, especially the turbo dynamics settings.
Do I need to( instead of using open loop) use advanced open loop in which I will for some reason require a net increase to wgdc for the same boost as regular open loop mode?
I have the external wastegate plumbed such that a boost ref goes to the bottom port and on that line, a tee offers a line to the ebcs which when enabled allows pressure to use top port of the ewg.
