OFFICIAL VIPEC THREAD - V44 PnP & V88 Thread
Hello everyone,
I have come here to ask the gurus of the v88 for some help.
I am currently working on a formula student car and I don't know very much about the software.
We have a sequential gearbox using a kliktronic gear switcher and what I am trying to do is to input an ignition cut whenever one of the shift button is pushed to allow for a smooth no throttle release gear shift but i can't seem to figure out how to do it. Everything else has already been programmed as we are using last year's ECU but it doesnt include the ignition cut bit.
Any help is welcome!
Thanks!

Set your rev limiter to spark cut, and then setup a rev limiter based on a digital input... your triggered output from your shifter. Only difficult part is setting up a delay on it as well... you may get clever and design a circuit that has a adjustable delay (holds the output high to continue the spark cut during shift)
I set a safety rev limit for when fuel pressure dropped relative to boost pressure (if we ran out of fuel pump...) Base pressure + boost pressure >= Fuel pressure + 20kpa.

No more firmware will be coming out for the old v series ecus and you can't use I series firmware on them either. A bit of a pain in the *** considering they finally released dynamic traction control.
Helpful hint for people. If you open vipec and it doesn't show any of the menu bar... CTRL-F4. Changes the view. I've forgotten and relearned this twice. Figured I would save someone else some cursing.
I'm having a problem with a Trigger Error... mivec says it is seeing a 4th cam trigger pulse??? I noticed someone else here had that problem, curious what the answer was.

i have the same problem with my EVO9 i just purchased the car 2 weeks ago, and i am new to the entire tuned car field was wondering if any of you guys could help me with the troubleshooting as well as a remote tune, i have noticed also that due to the VVT error signal my VVT is not working
Hey anyone have trouble with the clutch input ? It's di8 and I'm not getting a signal for that . I switched from low to high and pull up on off with no results, it did work with the stock ecu, I'm thinking I'll have him try to ground the wire to see if it is working properly that way.
Which is the best clutch switch to use for both ffs and lc top or bottom ?
Also another trouble not of any significance is pin 83 is the di4 and factory it is the ac input. I set it up to run cyclic idle so after a run the car can cool down .. the input doesn't change every time the button is actuated ? Seems odd and there's no ac in the car .. any tips ?

How to get a baseline engine noise profile.
Is the best way to get a engine noise map laid out going to be; set knock control up to be active in all parameter except retard gain left at 0 ?
Yeah. set gain a little higher also. Around 1.5-2 that will allow you to see engine noise. Also make sure your map is setup for no knock. This will allow you to see the engine noise, so you can setup a knock map. Make sure your filter settings is also correct.
Best switch to use is the the top switch by the way if you were still working on that.

still having clutch switch problems
What would your settings be for oem switch ?
I I checked the switch for function with a meter but can't seem to get the ecu to see any change
