Disappointed after tuning

Last year i made 355hp and 485nm (engine hp)

Evo 8 with this mods.
3" exhaust from turbo, walbro 255,hks mushroom filter, hks sparkplugs

This year i made some upgrades and hoped for at least 400 engine hp

The upgrades
Evo9 turbo ( 49378-01571 )
Hks hardpipe intake
Evo9 Bov
Hks 272 cams and gears
New intercooler
ngk sparkplugs

The tuner setup the camgears for most hp

Tested the system for leaking pressure (found one and fixed)
Today i took the car to a tuner for retune and dyno.

But the car only make 371hp and 431nm

Car is running on what we in sweden call 98RON
Also EcuTek

any suggestions on if something is wrong? Or should i be happy with 371hp?

What are the cam gear settings? To lose that much torque I would presume the intake is retarded 3-5* and maybe the exhaust is advanced? Also how much boost pressure and was that the same as last year? Has the EGR system been checked to make sure the vacuum line didnt blow off?

I would think you would make more then that. I'd get rid of them ****ty hks cams and go with something else. Those are proven to barely be as good as oem 9 cams

Later today i will remove the cover and take a look on camgear settings.

The boost is the same as last year. 21 psi (1.5bar in Sweden)

Yes the egr system also have a check.

Posting camgear settings later today!

re run the pull in 3rd gear... lol it will put you over 400... I'm kidding... sort of.

the drop in torque is the real killer... can't say i know what Nm is in ft/p but i do know that a drop of 50 with only the slight increase in horse power means you car is actually slower now then it was... with comparable spool etc.
personally i would do a compression test and see if the age of the motor has just weakened it a bit. then if aaron's number are close to what is actually being used i would pull that back a bit. -1/+2 or +2/-1 depending on where you want your power band... if you upgraded to a evo 9 turbo then tweak the boost to 24/25 and go from there...

Something looks off about your dyno graph. I'm pretty sure torque and horsepower are supposed to cross around 5200.

He's in Sweden. They use nm instead of lb/ft for tq.

EDIT: Looking closer at the cam gears, I can figure where TDC is and as John B said, your intake is retarded 8* and your exhaust is advanced 4* ..... IF I'm reading it right.

I don't see TDC on your cam gears in these two pics but my Vishnu cam gears are set to -3 intake and -3 exhaust on my evo 8.

I'm not an expert but the difference from one cam gear to the other seems excessive...looks like 12 degrees difference if each mark is 2 degrees (as read on cam gear) from pic 1 to pic 2.... Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

you should run bigger injectors and different cams. although HKS is 272, they are quite mild. i would go with something more aggressive say gsc s2's or kelfords. make sure you look at the cams specs for valve lift. i think the HKS 272s valve lifts are in the 10.something range. heck even the gsc s1 cams are more aggressive.
