E-Check Help-VIN#

Hi. I recently purchased a 2004 Evo 8. It is catless and I live in a county where you must past emissions to get plates. I tuned the car using evoscan and ecuflash and turned off the codes so I could pass emissions at a self check station. When I go to run the self emissions check it tells me that an employee needs to verify because the VIN# entered does not match the VIN# on the ECU. Could anyone point me in the right direction on what I need to do in order to make these match up so I can pass emissions with the self check.

Thanks

Sounds pretty sketchy if you ask me...

Contact the previous owner and ask them if they have the original ECU?

This might be an issue with the way the car was tuned or something, though.
