I have a pressing problem with my car that I have been trying to fix for the last several days.
The car is a 2000 Galant with a 4G63T evo 5 stock engine, evo 8 turbo, evo 8 ecu, evo 9 injectors. I am in the tuning stage now after rebuilding the engine 3 months ago and I have hit a wall with the issue of knock.
Additional mods include:
Walbro 450 fuel pump
ZT-2 wideband
The car starts knocking as soon as it hits the 3k-4k range under boost and in the 120 load category. There are times when you can get it to knock under 100 load by playing with the gas pedal. The knock pulls timing significantly which seems to prevent the car from getting over the 8psi boost mark. I have been pulling timing with no change, the last timing pull ended with more knock in lower load.
I decided to bite the bullet and modify the knock settings by upping both low and mid range knock multiplier by 1 and then changing the point at which knock is ignored for 2500-3000 rpm up to 159 load. None of these made any difference and the car is still knocking even in areas where it should be ignored.
I am running open loop speed density on Tephra v7, AFR at idle is 14.7, cruising afr is 13.2-13.6 and afr on boost is 10.6-10.9. I dont want to start leaning out fuel on boost until I atleast get the knock issue sorted and get the car boosting to full wastegate pressure.
See attached my logs and a screenshot of both the last log and the map in Evoscan

In the first picture you posted, at the top right, you have it set to "averages". Change that to "count" (at least thats what I think it is called. Been a while since I used the program). After that, hover your mouse over the boxes that have all the knock and see how many times and what count # it did it. You may have 7 counts of 1 knock which could be false knock. But then you could also have 1 count of 7 knocks which would be bad.
You state an 8 ECU but no mention of a knock sensor. Anymore I think they are all the same part number, but a new sensor torqued to spec would be my next move.
Going through the log, car seems to get quite hot. Especially when knocking. High IAT may be contributing. Car doesn't knock in lower CLT.
Assuming that MAP is calibrated. You're getting knock at 3+lbs of boost. Timing is very conservative and it's definitely pulling a lot.
Address the heat, but I'm leaning towards false knock or Intake temps.
Edit: Map is also REALLY conservative, more timing may help. If youre running 10ish AFR and only 3 degrees at 5 lbs it could definitely be an issue.

I smoothed my map with some added timing, bumped the knock multiplier by 1 additional unit in both low and midrange and did a log, was only able to get the first few minutes as my laptop failed. However I got no knock in the latter loads but got a strange 7 knock counts at 60 load. Today I was able to get the car to knock consistently on low load by playing with the pedal. I am going to check the knock sensor tomorrow and see if it may be loose in anyway.
