our Tephra based tunes gives you 2 maps. 93oct OR e85 for example. you can switch between the 2. if in a bind, just fill with 93oct when youre Empty light turns on, then switch to the 93oct tune before you leave the gas station

oh ok yea I understand that. I have like 3 different maps I can switch between on my civic. I guess I’m just trying to think of like worst case scenarios where say you get a bad batch of e85 and it’s actually like e60. I guess that’s where I’m coming from in wanting a flex fuel setup where the car would just adjust automagically instead of always having to worry I’m at or near e85 for that tune.

well for max power you stick with quality/tested gas stations in well populated areas or measure the ethanol content.
if you see e60 on the gauge then report it maybe that could be flood water in your tank

Haha very true. I was just trying to give a hyperbolic example lol.

So do you think it'd be better to just have dual maps?
I'm just trying to decide before I put in orders for the equipment.

you can install the gauge/sensor if you want . depending on the tuner you go with (locally maybe), see what they can deliver. flex fuel tune is fine, even if you track your car (a tank of e85 dont last long). to me its a waste

interesting. Are you saying the gauge/sensor isn’t event a requirement? It’s basically just the tune I would need? I don’t plan on tracking the car. Just using it on the street. It’s a waste for you to do flex fuel?

no i'm saying you can have the sensor/gauge for display and not necessarily an input to the ECU. you can do that later when you have a tuner
you should plan to get all the mods/maintenance youre planning done before getting the tune.

ahh I gotcha. Yea I was planning on setting it up and leaving it be until I can get tuned.
i have this weird popping noise in the front driver side each time I hit a bump. The seller says it’s some clearance issue while under load, but have to figure that out first before I can do anything else.
