well since the BOV came up, i was wonering if i would need one? i ordered the turbo kit and should be getting it soon. just wanted to know what it does and what else i should get to keep the engine in good condition? im pretty much a noob at all this so bare with me.
a bov comes with the turbo but you can get another one like greddy or blitz. I have a turbo timer but I am unable to get it to work rite and i might work on it in a few days. I am talking with my mechanic rite now on more improvements. He said i could put an intercooler in it but I would have to move the battery. This is for a automatic. I plan on more things but have to finish paying off the bills. But I am very happy about my turbo now. I should be getting the car dynoed in a few weeks before school starts. I will post the numbers asap.
Is the lancers weak spot the pistons? I know they have a thin shoulder but if you replaced them with RRMs forged pistons could you get serious boost out of the 4g94? does any one know if ther are performance connecting rods available... maybe it shares the same part # as another mitsu engines rods
13-14 psi needs some refinements before hitting that high. Slushbox, I don't know our mitsu tranny can hold it, besides not being the best platform for high boost.
1) pistons
2) conrods - this will probably break or bend before punching a hole in the pistonhead.
3) next will either be headgasket or connecting pins holding the pistons to the conrods . . . not sure on the head bolts - might as well get ARP.
4) well, I don't know what next to break. high psi acts like a computer worm. it slowly work its way around to find the next weak spot. hey, it's a motor gremlin.

The mustang CAN beat you buddy. More power and more torque. Specially if it is a GT you do not stand a chance. The new GT's performance are about equal to a GST or GSX and I know you arent beating them. The lowest model mustang nets 193 hp with 228 of torque and turns a 1/4 mile in a little over 16 secs. I dont think that the lancer is doing this. So with the lower models beating them would be hit or miss depending on how well he/she drives.
