If you're talking about the hot side of the turbo, that's just what they look like after having that much heat blowing through them.

Ok I just got done reading all 20 pages of this thread, and I think I'm ready to boost the OZ. I'm going to have to get a FMU or piggy back, coolant/oil lines, and injectors. This has really helped a lot

Cool

Want to do this, RRM still has their Turbo Kit for $4k, was wondering if there are other good kits anyone has used since this thread died? or if custom is still a good way to go?

Personally id save your money and look into saving your money for a better platform with more aftermarket support, such as an evo or Honda or any Mitsu that uses a 4g6 motor. With that said if you still are wanting to proceed, I'd say go custom since I'm not really aware of any kits. For instance, I believe that rrm stopped making the manifolds(someone correct me if I'm wrong) so you would have to find a used one which could be tricky or you'd have to modify a 4g6 one. Just my opinion. If I could have done it over I would have just saved and eventually got the evo. But by that time I realize I like bigger platforms to start with so now I'm running a mustang v8 boss 302. Still have my lancer but the reliability factor isn't quite there now that it has 156k miles. 76k of those are turbo and I just recently blew the engine from having stock Pistons. Rebuilt it with forged stuff now but the rest of the car is just old and needing a lot of work. I'd like to get rid of it but it holds sentimental value and I have so much time put into this car. Just some things to think about.
