okay.. just a thought.. personally I'm leaning towards a 100hp direct port wet shot on an rpm progressive controller (not straight 100hp shot, ramps up from choosen rpm to max shot at an again choosen rpm .. basically WAY less stress on internals)

but I've always like the superchargers used by toyota in the 80's/90's the centrifical unit with teh electric clutch.. think about it.. you could have off, low boost, and high boost... all you need is an electronic boost controller that will controll an on/off solenoid to the pulley clutch (like an a/c compressor) ... only problem is over 14psi the s/c's tend to go boom ... the s/c was avail on the MR2.. and the Previa van.. the van had a slightly larger unit.

combine that with a water/air intercooler from a JDM subby... maybe an aftermarket pulley to get boost on quicker (and higher boost up top) ... and you can keep pretty much all your N/A bolt ons

BTW I love junkyard tech.. pulling parts from other cars and adapting them brings me much joy

oh yeah... just caught the possible 285hp limit for the cvt... I was kinda leaning towards the 5spd a little leary about the cvt's power handling.. but hell .. I think I'll go to the CVT and see if I can break it! LOL (reminds self to keep all stocker parts avail for quick re install)

well the nitrous will realistically be about a year after picking up the car (impatiently waiting for Sept)

so I'll still be playing to same mod game as the rest, bolt ons, trying to find my niche I'm betting someone will put a healthy dose of nitrous on one before me LOL

I cant wait for a turbo or supercharger set up for this car. I'm leaning more towards turbo because the supercharger of course isn't going to produce as much power as a turbocharger is on these engines. Glad im getting the 5speed though. Although i do like the supercharger option also because the power is always there for you and no spool time is nice. So hopefully in the next couple of months we'll see some development on forced induction.

well... looks like 5spd for me.. cvt just out of my self imposed payment budget...

depending on what kinda doors the RRM piggy opens up I might steer from nitrous to that s/c idea too.. dunno yet.

hey i have no idea about them but ive seen in magazines electric superchargers/turbos. basically its just a high tech electric turbine that gives it some boost. i believe the boost is very low and i think that this could work. even if it was a small boost like 5lbs or something it could easily give a decent hp gain in the double digits and it would be very simple and easy to take off if bringing the car in under warranty. just an idea but i'm still waiting for rrm to make a nice kit, one for the cvt would be nice.

with the exception of the unit from boosthead... those elec turbo/super's are a ploy to seperate you from your cash

the boosthead one works.. but only for a very short period of time and it's an instant hit of full boost, no wind up like normal. it uses a battery pack for like 15-20 seconds of use .. basically 3 starter motors hooked up to a centrifical super.

a good turbo kit, properly installed.. yes it's expensive, yes it'll ruin your warranty.. but it shouldn't give you any issues... if I do my s/c idea, I'm looking at ALOT of development and trial and error time.
