But yeah back on topic, Evo_soul, how much did your friends in Japan boost it up too? And did they have any luck with Cryogenic Applications? if we could get it to run under sub zero temperatures, how much torque/ HP do you think we could safely handle?
lol try explaining a Cryo setup to your Dealer, lol If I was a Dealer Service manager, I would get a piece of paper and write VOID in big letters and tuck it in your front jacket pocket. lol But more seriously to the point, they are tight lipped about their project cars, and I respect them enough to keep what I know which isnt much to myself. I think speculating into things, I think with the vast volume that the CVT transmission has in terms of fluid, I think the cooling starts there, with the vs. attempting to cool the entire unit.
I dont recall off the top of my head, but how many qrts are their in the CVT?

TO answer your question, I would speculate in fixed gear mode, I think reliably you could go as high as 235hp, but internal may need beefing and very frequent oil changes, Rad needs to be upgraded. lol get a pad of paper here, there will be alot of things that need a changing. But I have no idea how you would be able to remain warranty compliant.

Back on topic. Hopefully mechanically things will hold up fine. Electronically it wants to throw it into a fault for sure. HOpe it is just electronic.

^ lets hope thats all it is. electronics can be manipulated and fooled. as long as it doesnt cause a huge loss for the CVT vs. manual

it helps to have a game plan on what you want from the car. do you want a DD that you add a few mods to and have fun or are you trying to pass everything on the roads. can you even drive a 5 speed or are you gonna be burning up clutches every time you try to prove yourself. bottom line is what do you expect from this car and how much $$$ do you have to spend on it. Mods arent cheap and making a track warrior is gonna eat a lot of time and even more $$
i wanted something new and fun to drive so i bought the CVT. i had an '86 Mustang 5 speed that could pass everything on the highway except a gas station ( i miss that car)

theres no 2 sec diff. maybe stock or if you use D mode..but if you know how t manuver the car between sports and auto for the best results..you can run as good if not better than a manuel.

who's Manuel?

SORRY! Sorry... I couldn't help myself... it was dangling there in front of me so I HAD to bite.... I know you meant manuAl.

It might be possible to make a CVT out run a manual, but it won't be by much... CVTs weigh more than manuals...

Plus they suffer from more power loss (more friction).
