^I hope it last at least 1,000 miles in testing without any problems. But yeah we need vids of the CVT running hard. Maybe a 0-6 time, and some numbers lol. Im extremely excited.

Vids will come. We are getting new carpet in the office and will be extra busy for a couple days. Plus we want to check over stuff before we get to the vids. THe manual turbo ran perfect for 2000+ miles so we are going to do about the same thing with this car.

Right now the same boost but it still might be required to lower the boost. We will see about that.

Hey, been a long time since I posted here, but I am very happy to hear that the CVT is up and running. Good job, I hope it works out fine. I would love to have that thing in sport mode screaming through the "virtual" gears

^ & what if while on the 15psi of boost it could also handle a 250 shot of giggle juice! all on bone stock internals with no tune. IT'S NOT GONNA HAPPEN

this thread is funny. The pulley has been around since the Pyramid times, and if you look at what was done with those Pulley's I would say the pulley ranks right up there with things like the gear system and hell even the wheel.

the construction of the CVT transmission had two things in mind. Build something that wont break. and do it in a cost effective manner. Mitsubishi or other CVT equipt manufacturers out there wouldnt put something on the market that was borderline reliable. or it would have never left the drawing board. After a few calls to mitsubishi and attempting to get answers from the outsourced vendor who makes the CVT. the one fear that they all had speaking frankly was Heat. HEAT HEAT HEAT. in fixed positions you can drop a bomb of PSI BOOST on the transmission, it will be fine. But once you get down to the Continously variable part thats where you might see the problem.

My friend in Japan who has a few projects going on, said dont due turbo unless you A) address the heat problem/cooling. I think they discused even using cryo applications for the transmissions. B) dont use Auto mode period! no idea if it was a joke or not. But he seemed to say it without laughing.

To comment on M20racers statement, the block may have been out for years but between manufacturers their is a world of difference between them and what they put in their cars. included what is forged or not. I think someone confirmed that the rods in Mitsubishis 4B11 are indeed forged. But the construction of the engine and the technologies they use differ big time

lol i know its not gonna happen. i was joking.

But yeah back on topic, Evo_soul, how much did your friends in Japan boost it up too? And did they have any luck with Cryogenic Applications? if we could get it to run under sub zero temperatures, how much torque/ HP do you think we could safely handle?
