If I were you, I'd aim for a car I'm happy with rather than some arbitrary number.

i like the car just want it to go faster. im assuming that everyone on this forum do not like their because they buy after market products and i guess this goes for all car enthusiasts. just because they buy things for their cars doesn't mean they don't like it. im just improving things on the car making it better but then again maybe i should have bought a wrx like you become a moderator and write condescending statements towards people that enjoy improving their cars as a hobby. but to each their own

Lol, where are these condescending remarks? I'm sorry but someone who just bought a lancer shouldn't be giving someone who owned one for 4 years a hard time. I actually did mod my car and I have the dynos to prove what the results were. If you want to live in a dream world where a lancer can make 400 hp with ease and get perfect traction everytime, be my guest but don't get mad at those of us that have a grip on reality and have actually been around long enough to know better than that.

im sorry but i have owned my car for 5 years now. thats why i said i just paid the car off just now. any who im not mad just seemed like you were being a dick thats all. i have even been here since 02 forgot my sn and pw had to make a new one even remember when hobie (i think it was him) was first starting his custom turbo setup when his mani looked like it wouldnt clear his hood and people were giving him **** about it.
i just didnt realize that producing 400hp wasnt realistic.

id hate to interrupt this arguing...haha, but not all engines are the same. a d16 and a 4g94 are totally different. and nothing against you, but if you owned this car for that long of a time you would have known what it is capable of.

Yes but not all SOHC are made equal, that's like saying all 2 liter motors are made equal.

well i was talking to a guy through email i think it's atp turbo but yea he sent me this reply about some turbos.......
Kris,

Kudos to you for being selective in the kit and to take on the task of
researching it properly and doing it yourself.

The GT2871R will be much better in terms of boost response and area
under
the curve than the run of the mill T3/T4. However, you may consider
doing
the GT28RS instead. The reason we suggest it is, the boost response
would
be phoenominal on that engine compared to either one of the turbos you
listed and it will still do 350HP.

The GT28RS is quite the over achiever and you will be thrilled with the
way
it responds to your right foot vs both the other turbos which if you
push
them hard enough with high enough boost (and only if you do max them
out),
will maybe give you slightly higher peak HP number, at the expense of
laggier, lazier response.

Think about it.......

i've also done some research and from what i was reading alot of audi cars use this turbo and hasnt complained at all about it but shoot, that car company is a whole different category all together. Here's a link about some people comparing the gt28rs and the gt2871r....

yeah from what those audi dudes were talking about it seems like the gt28rs would be better seeing as we dont really spoool past 6 grand. does it have ball bearings?

For the power you'll be producing, it doesn't make a difference. I doubt you'll notice a substantial difference between a T-25, T-28, GT28RS, etc. as you'll only be pushing 12 PSI max.
