come on now..seriously..why would rob joke around with a serious customer inquiring about what to do with their car? if he wasnt being serious thats even worse that you play around with all of your customers and just hope they take it as a joke?? no, its obvious it was serious..

and works claims 18hp13tq?

thats for the 08-09 lancer..and what does it say? "up to 6hp" it dosent say 6, dosent say 6+, and def is no where near 18hp so wheres the biggest crock of crap? seriously do research before you make a stupid claim like that. theres no excuse for lying to a customer about numbers

like the hating on RA's vs your turbo kit lancer? RA's still get AWD-is that your next project?

I like the new Lancer whether its the base or the Evo. We all know the limitations of the RA and possible potential in the near future, but we definitely know the limitations of the GTS-below Lancers and the very debated potentials of the GTS-which so far is only forced induction. Doesn't even get a LSD, give us your 0-60's and 1/4miles (in an approved location). You can throw whp and torque figures all day but in the end power is still delivered same as as all other Lancers.

None one should be promoting illegal stuff. Take it to the track where it is easier to beat up on RAs.

Back on topic. RRM doesn't really lie about their numbers, they just don't add them up right. If an intake adds 5hp by itself, and header adds 8hp, that doesnt mean you get 13hp, it could be 10hp. The RRM team isn't going to take the time to dyno EVERY possible combination of their products to tell you how much power you will gain from an intake and header combo, intake v1 and exhaust 1 combo, intake v2 and exhaust 1, intake v2 and exhaust 2, intake v1 and exhaust 2, ect. And with all bolt ons, you might be at 200hp at the crank, no one really knows. I know someone dynoed like 170+WHP with just an intake and exhaust, im sure the pully frees up at least 1 hp, header should add a decent amount if it works well with the exhaust, and works was advertising something close to 20whp with their tune, so a tune at 93 oct. with all these mods might get you to 200whp.

And $4300 for a turbo kit isn't bad, its almost the standard price. I know people with BMWs paying $3500 just for an exhaust, or $2000 for seats, $5000+ for a paint job. No one said modding cars was cheap, its an expensive hobby. For the amount of performance you get out of this turbo kit, I would say $4300 is a very good price to performance ratio. Not many things will double your horsepower, especially only costing $4300.

Bladed is right $4300 is not bad now if RRM charged $4900 to $5200 then i would'nt have gottin the Kit thats when the hole "build it yourself custom kit" comes into play... but like i said before... im happy with it so i support RRM 100% and their customer service is awsome (Props to Matt at RRM)... i already have 2ppl i know personal thinkin about the gettin the Kit... and several ppl of youtube ask me question about the kit and they are thinkin about gettin it as well... and yes i do recommend RRM kit to them and then they ask the general questions... who installed how long how much you paid for labor etc...

I don't know what you are actually paying for, for $4300 seems steep. A universal turbo kit can be had for way under 3k. Fitment (including welds) tube routing, mounting, etc. can be easily be done a local tuner shop still under 3k. The problem only exists when programming the ECU, piggybacks, tunes etc. that is where Road Race has come in.

The turbo kit isn't extraordinary and the design isn't special either. Its turbo force induction at its most primitive form in today's sense. I think people are picking up most the cost at the ECU/Piggyback R&D and not so much the mechnical aspect of the kit.

Now the kit has been released and the cost needs to remain high until demand picks up. If demand does decide to rise for these kits and the price continues at an inflated price, people will be taken advantage of. HKS and GReddy offer kits for older Hondas thru years and years of R&D and the initial cost has gone down quite considerably.

We can go on and on about the price, but it comes down to what you are actually paying for. A turbo Lancer, thats designed to be a econobox, versus the cars that are actually designed primarily to be in a sense performance econoboxes, which the lancer is not.

I called a few local shops around here about turboing my car, and they all said that they could do a completely custom kit with custom manifold or take parts from an Evo/ Ralliart and only make a few custom pipes and lower the psi, but both ways would be alot more expensive than RRMs kit. Its $20/ foot for stainless steal, $25 for every bend, $115 an hour for fabrication, $100 an hour for install, and then $135 an hour to tune it, which would take a lot of hours since they need to do all the work RRM had to do and that Extreme boost can't do (I have a CVT, only shop able to make it work so far is RRM.) Not to mention the price of all the parts that can't be fabricated. $4300 is really a great price.

The shops I talked to were Infinite speed and performance, altered atmosphere (Big in the Nissan world), and I sent an email to AMS but they haven't got back to me yet.

That is a fair, objective assesment. There is a lot to it and only shops that will go $100+ an hour will try to do it. This way they have nothing to loose. We had a lot of trouble and if Lancer was not our main game, it would have been quite easy to give up. Glad we did not though! Our customers are glad too, our competitors.......not so happy.
