makes more of a longer, gentle pshhhhhhh instead of quick psh and when i build boost for like a sec and let go it makes a psh noise instead of like whatever the other noise is, cant type that sound lol

The noise you were hearing before was a fluttering sound right? Thats called backspin/compressor surge. Not good for the turbo, so its good you fixed it now.

When the BOV's actuator is too tight, it doesnt fully open during shifts, therefore a lot of the pressurized air that gets sent back down the intercooler pipes when the throttle plate closes doesnt escape out of the BOV, and hits the turbo's compressor blades causing them to try to spin in the opposite direction. The fluttering noise is the compressor wheel inside the turbo trying to spin in the opposite direction. This causes stutters and longer spool time once you start accelerating again because the turbo has to respool from start.

You'll have to do some fine tuning of the spring pressure to get it right. The screw on the top of the BOV is for adjusting the spring tension. You want to tighten it to the point of hearing that flutter, then loosen it a little bit until you dont hear it anymore. If the spring is too loose, the turbo will work harder trying to compensate for the boost pressure you're leaking out of the BOV because the spring is not fully keeping the BOV closed during boost. Too tight and you wont vent enough of the pressure during shifts and you'll get compressor surge

nice explanation and yes it was a fluttering noise exactly......well now i have it tightened 3 turns right and it seems that 5 pounds before boost i can hear it hissing so i guess its too loose?

most likely. Like i said, turn the dial tighter until you get compressor surge again, then back it off a little until it stops. That should be the sweet spot
